Nintendo will release a Pokémon-themed New 3DS bundle on Feb. 27 in honor of the series' 20th anniversary, The Pokémon Company announced today.

The bundle's arrival coincides with the digital re-release of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow; it will include Red and Blue pre-installed, as well as two cover plates and a download code for a new Pokémon home menu theme. In Japan, fans instead have the option of four Pokémon-themed 2DS bundles to match the Red, Blue, Yellow and Green editions of the game.

Is this the first example of US getting faceplates that Japan/Europe didn't? I think it is.

Guess the ACHHD bundle did well enough that Nintendo's going to keep selling the n3DS here.

Technically that thread is about the 2ds's Europe is getting. The new 3ds's weren't added to the op until later and aren't in the title, so easy to miss. I think a dedicated thread for this is fine, I would have missed it in the other thread.
