Agree wholeheartedly with this. I did this same thing, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.I did the same thing ten years or so ago when I really started exploring the classics. That was a great decision because almost all of the movies I watched then were truly excellent and that was so much better than seeing tons of contemporary movies that almost always ranged from below average to just above average with very few titles I'd call exceptional.
Likewise. I'm not a Tarantino fan and have had plenty of opportunities to see this movie at any given cadence; just wouldn't.Pulp Fiction. I think I understand the basics though through all the memes.
Dude. You're missing out. Back to the Future is a blast.Back to the future
Check out Pale Rider. One of his lesser known movies, and has a great performance by Chris Penn.most things with Clint Eastwood, even though I’ve seen Every Which Way But Loose and its sequel multiple times
I imagine you on sitting on a rocking chair in the middle of nowhere Wyoming with a straw hat, a face that looks like saddle leather and holding a pipe. Possibly wearing a cowboy hat and blue jeans.Never seen any of them Harry Potter, Pirates, Hobbits or Twilight films. I watched the first Batman and the Joker, but apart from them I never watched any of those dumb superhero movies. They all look like Twilight for boys if you ask me. Never seen any of the new Star Wars. Well, I watched maybe half of the first one with Jar Jar and switched that shit off. Never felt the need to watch any of the others. They ain't Star Wars. They're just bullshit.

Others that are very popular that I've never seen and may or may not want to:
- Fight Club
- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (never been a Kubrick fan and have only watched/liked Kubrick's version of 'the Shining')
- Citizen Kane
- The Hobbit live-action trilogy (I owned the animated version, though)
- The Godfather (the first one...I watched part 2 first and then decided at that time I wasn't going to go back to watch the first)
- Apocalypse Now (mildly interested in seeing this sometime)
- Fargo
- The Matrix (I've seen clips of it and a music video years ago)
Dude, screw everything else on that list watch The Thing immediately. If not sooner.Citizen Kane
Chinatown
The Thing
All of Harry Potter
- Fight Club
- 1984
- Maltese Falcon
- Top Gun
Many reason why. Some, I just never had interest in the plot summaries I've read or just haven't gotten around to them yet. That doesn't mean I'll never watch them. Half of all the "well-known" movies I had not seen until my wife showed them to me as I used to only watch low-budget indie movies. I'm a bit more open to big time A-list productions now than I was 5-years ago.
Have you seen Sweet Smell of Success? Unconventional noir that holds up very well. The Maltese Falcon was my last classic "must see" movie. I finally got around to watching it a little over a year ago.
I'm not young. I'm middle Gen X. I have a great fondness for all films from the dawn of cinema up through the modern era. Old movie-making styles, writing, and performances are no deterrent to my enjoyment at all.
But I thought that film was complete crap.
Sharknado is among my classics. A gem of the genre. The singing and nazis.
The piano and nazis.
The war one with marlon brando.
The gang wearing eyeliner and bowler hats.
The black and white one with fedoras.
The musical one about coming to America.
The sharks and torando.
Only good part is the ending fight.Jaws.
I watched maybe 30 minutes or so tho because it was on TV and I was on the treadmill and have a TV in front of it.
If I were to choose from those that I've not seen on the list to watch with some curiosity -- I'd be leaning toward: Fargo, Citizen Kane, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I'm an older film fan and tend not to go too far into 90's movies. There are many well-known 2000's movies too that I've never seen. I physically removed myself from theaters after the year 1998 and was only back in theaters when a "friend" would drag me in. I feel there's such an abundance of great movies that I haven't seen that span from the 1940's - 1980's that I would never have the need to get into beyond the 80's.All of those movies except The Hobbit (of course) are absolute classics. "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was directed by Milos Forman, not Kubrick. Should really rewatch that movie, it's been years since I last seen it.
You should watch at least Fight Club, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, THe Matrix, The Godfather and Fargo. Those are easy recommendations for modern audiences. Citizen Kane is less popular these days, so wait with that one.
Definitely, it’s on my “to watch list”Watch it! You should have time over this extended weekend.
You're in for a treat.Never watched Leon the Professional. Probably should at some point.
The Rise of Skywalker. Hated Episode 7 and 8. JJ Abrams sucks.
I loved Silence. Liam Neeson was amazingIt's a fantastic film
U want real misery, watch Silence, that's 4hrs or pure depression
One of the worst movies i've seen.Titanic
Well, what's the verdict on this one? It's in my top 3 movies.Mulholland Drive

I'm a 90s kid through and through and I'll gladly fill you in.Name a film widely considered to be a classic from prior to 2000 and there's a very good chance I have yet to see it. For most of my life I couldn't get into movies I considered older. I've been catching up over the past two or three years though. The Criterion Collection has gone a long way towards filling those gaps.
Casablanca, Citizen Kane, The Godfather II, Schindler's List, Life is Beautiful - the list goes on and on. But I'm working on it. I started with the 90's, still focusing on that decade, but have also been adding in films from the 70's and 80's here and there.

What year you were you born? I'm asking because I want to recommend my personal favorites.
Mid 90's
Dunno, still not seen it.
