What is your favorite gameplay in this day, today?

Metroidvania. Let me explore and find out how to progress on my own, a map is all I need.

But Elden Ring is my current all time #1. So Soulslike Metroidvania is it.
Elden Ring is so massive, I'm playing it very, very slowly, and NeoGAF user recommended me to get Bloodhound's Fang and now I'm aiming to get that. Yea, gameplay there is satisfying but now it's definitely RE4 for me

A moment that truly stood out to me was stepping into Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3. It wasn’t necessarily about the gameplay itself, but rather the sheer scope and potential of the content. The sheer scale of what lay ahead was one of my favorite aspects of the game

Sounds like me lol, it’s my favorite weapon. Taking it slow is the way to do it, I have 700 hours logged on it and I’ve only finished it four times, expansion one time, still have one ending left to see (Frenzied Flame), still playing it and finding new stuff. Absolutely love it!

Is the Fang in Limgrave, where that dragon-boss is? I think it was you who recommended me the weapon. Do I get it right, the main quest is to beat the Castle? You level up in the map and then slowly beat the main bosses in the Castle

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Hard to say… I guess I’m most enamored by third person VR games. I even like bad ones to some extent. Unfortunately there aren’t too many of these experiences.

Platforming is my favorite, but I also love action, adventure, Metroidvania, and anything with good moment-to-moment play. So basically not JRPGs lol

But which platforming game is your favorite, gameplay wise, in this day, today?
I love 2D and 3D Mario games. Astro Bot is also phenomenal. I play a lot of super hard levels on Mario Maker 2 every week, and it never gets old for me.

But I love a lot of platformers, like Super Meat Boy, Celeste, VVVVVV, Cave Story… basically anything that’s tough as nails.

Yeah, it still is. It's the only game of its type that I replay. The levels are paced so well, I can play in short bursts and still feel like I've accomplished something and gained some skill. The story segments can be skipped instantly, but even if you watch them, they're only about a minute at the long end, and so corny and funny that I've watched them dozens of times.

The controls are novel. I understand why some people might hate the movement system, but it's actually a stroke of genius. The downfall is that while it's perfect for fighting, it makes movement around the levels more difficult than it needs to be. A modern God Hand might fix it with a lock on system that would change movement types based on context.

The closest direct modern competitor is Sifu, which I don't hate, but it certainly doesn't have the same gameplay depth.

Don't have really favorite gameplay, maybe pure exploration with atmospheric musics like in Fallout 3/Skyrim but I know what I dislike:
Turn based combat, weapon degradation and all the scrapping/repairing/looting shit.

I think I should rename myself grumpy cat.

The twin-stick shooter Kill Knight. Challenging gameplay loop with the perfect balance of skill, risk and rewards. They developed and published it themselves for only $15.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I don't know man, I like many games and they are all very different.

I love the pawns and combat in Dragon's Dogma. Really enjoyed exploring in Elden Ring, felt like an immense adventure that would never end. The action in games like Furi or Alien Soldier is amazing, as is the feel of meaty combat in Path of Exile 2. And I just love the gameplay loop in SMT games, doing turn-based combat while fusing demons will never bore me, specially with their amazing soundtracks behind it all.

I don't know, too many to chose from.

Right now?

Fantasian Neo Dimension

Having to respec your equipment and growth charts to beat enemies and bosses. Each of them keep me on my toes and they will wreck you if you don't learn the patterns etc. It's really refreshing since grinding doesn't really help and forces you to think on how to beat each enemies/bosses

Star Ocean The Divine Force

I love using that rocket booster thing to initiate combat, also using it during combat. Another fun aspect is using the rocket booster to get to hard to reach places in towns and fields like roofs of houses to find secret treasures etc. It's too bad the game didnt sell that well since I think it's the best 3D Star Ocean since the third one

Valkyria Chronicles 4

This one was a surprise. I never played the first game. The artstyle always was a turn off. When I played this game though I loved how much variety the missions had. I don't remember any missions sharing the same objectives that you have to complete. It resulted in a game that had lot of variety and just wasn't capture the flag/base or kill all enemies. It was a tough memorable experience with a great story and cast. One of these days I'll do the post game

Then I recommend you Ori the Blind Forest, start is not that hard, but once game opens up it can be very hard

Unicorn Overlord, there nothing more satisfying creating your perfect squad and perform perfectly during battle.

This is even nothing, you should see what other people online made, you have crazy amount of freedom in how you go about creating your squad.

Random question. Can you recommend me new anime to watch on Crunchyroll? I remember you recommended me Dan Da Dan months ago, watched it all waiting for the next content

That good too and 3rd season is coming out soon.

I love the manga, sad the mangaka didn't make a new manga after finishing Fire Force. I do understand why he didn't but it is disappointing

I hope the anime gets a fourth season since I want to see the story fully animated. I'm thinking of waiting on all the episodes to release so I can rewatch all of Season One/Season Two and than binge watch Season Three
