I used to be a playstation gamer and fan, ps4 era at the time of conversion. What made me switch wasn't the power of PC, but the countless survival games that never came out on consoles that i wanted to play. Consoles really do lack a variety of games. I was always a the guy to tinker with my consoles because i wanted to fix things myself, even though i had no idea of what i was doing. I get my first PC in 2017. I've bought and upgraded cheap PCs because I dont feel like building from the bottom. I dont mind upgrading certain components so that is my approach to upgrades. Anyway, I stayed to PC because it was more than just survival games, it was free online, multiple choices from competiting storefronts. Never had to deal with PSN style downtime because of maintenance. Learning KB&M was the most difficult part but now I wouldn't trade it for any other input. Playing games the way I want to play, and not the way developers wanted me to play was awesome, with the mix and matching. I can target framerate or visual fidelity on a more granular level. I went from a RX 580 paired with a ryzen 1400 and a single stick of 8GB to a RX 9070 XT paired with a 5700x3d and 32GB of DDR4. I am ok, but i know i need to migrate to the am5 platform some day. Console gaming is great but you really have to deal with a lot of crap that I would never deal with today. back then, i didn't have much of a choice. Now, I'm playing the way I want to play, not their way.
