Which sporting event has stressed you out the most?

The Colts finally slaying the Pats and Evil Lord Brady. 2006 AFC Championship.

Brady throws an INT to Marlin Jackson to end the game and my 2 inch vertical leap turned into about a 2 foot vertical leap. One of my favorite moments ever watching sports!

And to counter this, the SB against the Saints. The three moments that stick out are the Garcon drop in the 2nd quarter, the "Hank Baskett" to start the second half, and obviously the Tracey Porter pick-6. Some huge sad panda moments.

2001 and 2004 AFC Championships.

Arguably the two worst days in human history.

:(

The 1991 NBA Finals kind of sucked ass as well.

I don't generally get stressed if my team wins. Without that tension it would be boring.

Uconn vs Duke 1999 NCAA Championship game.

Uconn's first Final Four. Duke the so call best team ever.

The game was back and forth all game. Its was like a classic title fight. Trading blows left and right.

Then comes the end of the game with less than 10 seconds left.

Uconn up 1.

Trajon Langdon, Duke's top shooter had the ball defended by Uconn's top defender Ricky Moore. Langdon travels.

Duke foul El-Amin and El-Amin makes both and now Uconn up 3.

Trajon Langdon fall in the next possession without getting a shot off. End of game. Uconn wins.

I'm an Atlanta Falcons fan, so literally the last several playoff games we've had.

This year will be a lot different though, I can tell you that for sure.

I would just say 3 through 7.

3 because of the lopsided score and impossible position they were put in, and 7 because when Pedro came in I honestly thought he'd bow it. 4-6 were just horrifying all the way.

That whole series put me on edge but those Varitek passed balls was a killer.

The 2012 Champion's League Final.

That and the second leg of the semi-final between Chelsea and Barcelona.

Both turned out great in the end though!

1994 and 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs as a Nucks fan.. :S

After that.. probably the Olympic hockey tournaments of late.

Euro 2008

Turkey vs. Switzerland
Turkey vs. Czech Republic
Turkey vs. Croatia

Fans of the Turkish national football team were close to having heart attacks during these games in Euro 2008. This was also the tournament were Turkey got the nickname the Comeback Kings since they managed to comeback during the last minutes/seconds of the matches and turn it around. The comeback against Croatia in the quarterfinals is unbelievable to me yet to this day. Funny that it ended up being the other way around against Germany leading to Turkey going out of the tournament in the semi-finals.

2007-08 Superbowl.

Fcking Giants and that last throw.

Being a Giants fan, those last offensive drives in both 2007 and 2011 were just both crazy. The Eli escape + Tyree helmet grab, then Belidick all out blitzing Eli to leave Ellis Hobbs one on one against Plaxico. Brady's final chance wiped away because of Jay Alford's rush up the middle.

The second win in the big game was just gravy. It didn't have the sheer volume of how large the win was (18-1!), but it was still very exciting nonetheless.

Harbowl I

Thanksgiving last year, Niners v Ravens. Being a transplant Ravens fan living in the Bay Area, I have hated on and talked shit about the Niners as long as I have been here. I hate them, and I run my mouth constantly. The stakes were high in the game, but they were higher for me. The idea of walking in to work the next day and dealing with the Niner fans couldn't happen; I'd have to move.

Luckily we crushed them.

As a kid, 1983 NHL playoffs: Leafs vs North Stars. My dad took me to this game. I was so nervous I felt physically sick. I had never really been nervous over a game before so I thought I was actually sick. Lol

Modern day, 2009 NFC Championship or the Superbowl. This made me so fucking happy to see the Saints finally win. I don't even really watch sports any more except for the Saints so this was a big deal. I have two close friends who are a Vikings fans and a Colts fan so it was really fun watching.

Also, glad to see the NFC championship is a favourite on here :)

The season when the dolphins had a change of getting to the conference. I was in Miami at the time and it was maddening.

Bartman Cubs game. I'm actually a White Sox fan, but I was pulling so hard for the Cubs to win. Watching it all crumble was so terrible. Each night of that series the tension in the air in Wrigleyville was unreal. Everyone was so ready to party, but the life was sucked out of the crowd the moment that play happened. I can't even imagine how painful it was for a diehard Cubs fan.

2004 Elite Eight: Oklahoma State vs. St. Joe's: I was at this game, traveling with the OSU band. About 80% of the crowd was rooting for the small school/east coast team, and we won on a three pointer in the closing seconds. Silence has never sounded so good. :)

2012 Western Conference Finals and NBA Finals: one turned out great, one didn't. :(

LOL at people stressed out about events they participate in themselves. I've played in plenty and normally feel a sense of focus and peace. Anticipation? Yes. Stress? No.

Then you didn't care about the teams or the outcome.

Being apathetic doesn't make you cooler. Just makes you seem more douchey in the thread.

I cared deeply but it just didn't manifest as nerves or stress. Probably because I felt like I had some control of the outcome and could focus on the job that needed to be done.

It's funny because I feel far more nerves/stress when the 49ers play even though the personal involvement is far less.
