Cardfight!! Vanguard 1 ~ 3: I like it. I like how it focuses on unit and the characters seems cool so far. It was funny to see the little girl being ""hooked" to the game too. I really heard the show screaming "hey little girl, buy cards too, they're cool even for girls, I swear!"

I just finished the first season of Arakawa under the bridge and I'm amazed that this show didn't make it to the top ten for 2010. I must have seen the BD box a billion times during the Rightstuf sale, but I was too concerned with putting together my collection of Anime movies to give it a second thought. The main characters are really taking their time to get to know one another, but I don't mind it because this show does something else better than most anime romances I've ever seen and that having a good supporting cast. Ichinomiya Ko and Nino are a great couple, but I can't even begin to describe how colorful and off the wall surrounding cast is. It honestly feels like I'm looking at the whole EM spectrum of characters instead of the thin slice we humans normally see. We've got stars, masochists, bumbling fools, men of God, Solid Snake fans, Yokai and sadists that give Senjougahara Hitagi a run for her money. Hell, we've even got Samurai still walking among them and the antagonist for the first season is great. Ko must have the most messed up family and that is saying something when you get a look at the rest of the cast. The jury is out on Nino because this girl is out of her damned mind, but I love her aloofness. She sort of feels like Ayanami Rei, but with an actual will of her own. Another thing that really stands out besides the sub characters/comedy are the VAs. So many recognizable and great voices make this cast absolutely stand out like no other. Gintoki's VA voicing Hoshi was the best surprise of all and I can't believe we got Jiraiya's VA voicing a straight up bum. I can't wait to check out season II. Hopefully the iron twins redeem themselves because they really weren't doing much at all in this show and definitely came off as the weakest link. Sister and Stella were definitely the best of the supporting cast along with Hoshi.

The show looks great and this is streamed at 480p. Can't wait to make this a BD purchase down the road. I may have to check the manga too.

I loved this show. Only saw season one but it was bizarre and fun enough to warrant buying both bluray sets. the artwork on the artboxes is really really pretty too. Pick them up.
