Y2K Trailer | My trauma is now a joke for a movie

AJUMP23

Parody of actual AJUMP23
They turned what I lived through into a shlocky horror movie. With that Snow White girl.

I mean, the idea of all our electronics shitting themselves at once must be legit terrifying for modern audiences. And to be fair we had a few of those same dumbasses at the time.

That aside, what a big yawn of a trailer.

It weird how films from the 2000's gets 4k release and look like they was shot yesterday and still have that 2000's look and are fantastic looking films, yet this still looks like present day cinematography set in present day at some Y2K Themed Gen Z party.

I remember being so drunk on the actual Y2K that the nausea sometimes comes back to me in dreams, and that feeling is still preferable to sitting through a single second of that trailer. The Snow White broad needs to dream of the leader she knows she can be somewhere else.

Who's the hollywood producer with a carp fetish working overtime to cast those damn fish eyed actresses in every movie ???

I love 90s nostalgia, no matter how cheesy or cringe it is. I won't go to the theater for this, though. Maybe I'll get high or drunk and watch it on streaming with some friends that also grew up in that era.

Dude the build up to this back in the day was fucking amazing. I was a freshman in college and watching people all panicky at the grocery store and buying up shit like the Fallout Apocalypse was imminent was hilarious.

We just had a big party ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the key thing to be taking from this trailer is that the dude who played Belsnickel in the Christmas Chronicles 2 looks young now than he did 5 years ago.

But still an unhealthy obese young guy. You'd think he would try to lose weight. I wonder if, like a lot of fat guys (and some girls), the weight is what defines him so he is reluctant to lose it and suddenly become "just another face" in Hollywood.

He seems to have put on a few pounds …

The reality was huge build up to a nothing burger.

Film concept is positive but delivery looks poor.

Haven't watched the trailer. The bolded bit might be the alpha and omega of the reason.

Was watching a video talking about why it's near impossible to watch a modern film on an old small TV. Older films were shot in a way that could be understood in a 4:3 aspect ratio and standard definition. Even if it was filmed wide screen, it still looked fine cropped on pan and scan.

Now they throw more stuff going on that can be seen in detail on high resolution widescreen so it has become harder to follow what's going on. Right or wrong, I'll let that be my takeaway of the difference between then and now.

As for the Y2K themed party, I guess those in the makings are trying to bring too much of themselves to the table.

hmmm...might still give this a go tonight
Movie was trash, aside from Alicia Silverstone looking hot as "the mom".

Kyle Moonie is an idiot, but Fred Durst (playing himself) was... okay, that was pretty good too. The rest of the movie is drivel.

You should watch this, hit's the nail right in the head

Would you say the simple explanation is letting specific focal points stand out vs letting everything equally stand out?

Here's the video I was talking about, though it's specifically addressing TV.

Movie was pretty dumb

Overall sucked but had a few mildly memorable moments

Wouldn't recommend, maybe as something to have on in the background

Easily the weakest a24 film I've seen in a very long time
