I know John Williams music threads have been made before but I wasn't sure if I should necro-bump a thread or just make a new one.

John Williams has 2 new scores coming out this year one for War Horse and one for TinTin. These are his first scores in 3 years. To celebrate (not really) let's post our favorite non-main theme John Williams music. Here are a few of mine:

Anakin's Dark Deeds-The main theme from Revenge of the Sith wasn't great to me but the score as a whole is pretty amazing. The ending to this track and how its split between dark/angry and tragic is so good.

Desert Chase-This action cue is just so spot on. Every moment syncs perfectly with the on screen action. Even without the visuals the sense of action, excitement, and danger are perfect.

Of course there are more, what non-main theme JW cues do you love?

Does Binary Sunset count? Only because it has the best version of the Force theme in it (although I'm sorta partial to the one in Main Theme/Revenge of the Sith).

The Emperor's Theme is not a theme by itself, but it is bundled somewhere with the Vader theme

Love that it's so simple yet memorable and ominous

Yeah I think its fine if the track has a main theme rendition in it cuz even then its dressed differently and surrounded by other stuff.

What constitutes as main theme in Saving Private Ryan?

His Copland-esque Hymn to the Fallen is pretty good.
I always thought of Hymn to the Fallen as the "main theme" of Saving Private Ryan even though it doesn't play till the end credits. I love that song, its like John Williams just went all out on it. It reaches such great heights!

In that case my 2nd submission

Cadillac of the Skies - Empire of the Sun

Combined with the visuals, OMG.

It would also seem that I have a thing for choral music, and in the case of John Williams' works, yes I very much do.

The theme track is really called Toy Planes, Home and Hearth, which this track features a lot of.

My favourite track from Empire couldn't be found on youtube, so I didn't list it. It's 'No Road Home/Seeing the Bomb' - which climaxes with Jamie finding the food aid canister and breaking it open. That scene always has me in tears.

Damn that is such a good track. I love how John Williams uses choir its like he really explores the range of the human voice. Then again I love how he uses all instruments.
