According to the interview, Mikami plans for this AAA project to be the last one where he's on the front lines, handling director duties. "That's something I was planning for from the start," he said. "I can only last for so long handling both director and company president duties, and besides, I want to give our younger developers a chance. Knowing that, of course, makes me want to put all of my experience, my energy, and everything else I've got into this game. I'm pretty lucky that [Bethesda] was willing to accept that, too. Too many publishers are only interested in the very near future, after all."

Such a shame if Shinji Mikami is stepping away from directing after this Tango game. Now I feel bad for laughing about Vanquish sales, but maybe this time was approaching no matter how it fared. Damn, first Inafking rage-quitting and then Mikami - the ex-Capcom legends of old are dwindling.

I'm surprised we've had this many games so far from him. It really is quite a blessing to see he's doing one more really.

If he leaves, then it's not a good deal for Zenimax, the whole point of picking up the studio is that he would stick around.
