Titanfall Review Thread

Already seeing complaints about lack of content/modes. Which is something I feared would happen with this game. For me even if I had a Xbone that would be a tough sell at 60 bucks.

Any review that launches before public servers are available is horse shit. At least a few places like giantbomb and the escapist have a set of balls and ethics. Expecting a 30 out of ten from polygon.
Yet reviews that launch before public servers go live are rewarded with lots and lots of traffic from review roundups like this thread.

Do they mean Titanfall will drop from 60 frames to 50-59, or from 1-10 frames?

One of these is acceptable, the other is not.

The latter - absurd.

I can deal with this once every ~8 hours of play just because something ridiculous happens. But it sounds like it's not terribly uncommon, and something you'll regularly run into - especially in certain modes.

That's an 88 aggregate so far, for anyone counting (plus or minus 1 point depending on metacritic's bizarre "weighting" system).

It's weird that three major sites are holding out on the review, and then to see sessler going all in with a 5/5.

The game is fun...why not?

No game is perfect. I remember when GTA 4 got perfect scores. It's nothing but hype getting to people to score it that damn high.

I have no issue with a 9 or 9.5 but with lack of modes I don't think a perfect score is justified. I'm sure the game is fun as hell though. That's all that matter in the end.

Pretty sure it's going to be exactly like the beta performance. Single digits is either an exaggeration or going to be a v.rare case. So if you were happy with the beta, I'm sure you'll be happy with the final game.

In my brief time with the beta I encountered single or almost single digit frame rates in every fifth match or so.

Aside from MMO's and Dungeon Crawlers. Online-only shooters sporting no campaign usually get ridiculed in reviews. So with these scores for an on-line only shooter, it's obvious the game is good if you want a new shooting game in the Europa of shooting games.

Justin Bieber sells a lot of records, but doesn't have much credibility as an artist.

Props to GB, Edge, GI, and anyone else who waits and sees.

So a lot of them are waiting for the servers and game to release before they do a final score?

I respect it, judging it for how well it launches as a MP only game.

Reading the not-quite-a-review review on Giant Bomb, Jeff says unless the online is totally wack, the game will probably get a 4 out of 5 stars, which is pretty good but lower than I expected. He also mentions a specific instance where the frame rate on the XB1 version dipped down into the single digits. Kind of surprising. Also, lack of game modes hurt this title a bit.

Only one 10/10!? FLOP!!

It will be hard for any only online console game to score 10s.

I predicted 90 ovr on MC, i overshot slightly it seems
