I absolutely enjoyed the shit out of Divinity, so would make sense for me to get W2 I guess? I know absolutely nothing about it though.
Is noone putting an OT up? We need more awareness for all these old school projects.
Think divinity but in the fallout universe.
You will receive email notice when that happens. Hopefully you went on their site and selected your reward and locked in your shipping address.Anyone know what the deal is with the physical rewards? Have they been shipped?
Last I heard, they asked me to re-confirm my shipping address two months ago. Then radio silence.
I have the big-box version with a real manual and map, and I really hope it gets here before Friday...
This. D:OS was a great game with an almost perfect combat system and a huge amount of interactivity, but its world, characters, and story were pretty forgettable -- and the game fell a bit flat after the first map.I dont expect nearly as fun combat from wasteland and pillars. but I hope they will deliever in other departments. its not like divinity had any memorable characters, a great story or an interesting setting.
I basically stopped playing Divinity before reaching the second map because the mechanics, fun as they are, weren't enough to sustain me.I dont expect nearly as fun combat from wasteland and pillars. but I hope they will deliever in other departments. its not like divinity had any memorable characters, a great story or an interesting setting.
I agree, it would be great if games just released worldwide on Friday instead of split dates.Definitely have my weekend plans confirmed. Love the Friday release. I despise Tuesday releases.
Since nothing appears to be happening OT-wise, thought I'd make a header graphic in case someone wants to make one. I could probably post one myself, but it would be pretty sparse atm

I haven't played the beta of this for quite some time, I really hope they managed to polish things more. Divinity has set such a high bar for my expectations now that I hope Wasteland can at least get close.

Here's vid of Eurogamer playing the launch release. Looks a lot more polished. A lot, a lot.
I've been launching the game for an hour after every major update since the earliest beta. It's far better now than before, both in looks and performance.
Ranger BraveStarr: Are you able to reduce the download size of the gold version of Wasteland 2 by installing the beta before?
Brother None: In an absolute sense you'll download more since you'll first download the beta and then the update which'll total more than just the game. But yes, your download on release day should be smaller.
Wyzak: Will we be able to preload the game so that we can start playing at launch time? or shortly thereafter?
Brother None: No preloading, no.
MrMoe: After upgrading the beta installation to the release version, will there be some leftovers or is it the same as a clean install ?
Brother None: It should act as a clean install, other than saving any settings and saves you have.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I will actually need to do some cleaning to get 33 GB free in a single partition.
How big is the install right now?

That's awesome. A Human Becoming signed up to do the OT a while ago, don't know if they remember. Game needs a real nice OT and that banner is a sure good start.
You said the magic wordI know it's not Destiny, but the lack of posts and/or views in this thread saddens me greatly.
Wasteland 2 | OT | Explodes like a blood sausage
Wasteland 2 | OT | Fallout's Granddaddy
Wasteland 2 | OT | Welcome, Desert Rangers

Beats the thread about the announcement for a spiritual successor to the Gold Box games.
Got one post.

Might have been better if it had Gold Box in the title...but this place isn't too old school PC friendly.

I'm definitely interesting in impressions for this, I really hope they put out something good. Also is anyone doing an OT? If not I can fill in.

Introduction:
Wasteland 2 is the direct sequel to 1988s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other CRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players hands to advance based on their own particular play style.
The Wasteland series' impressive and innovative lineage has been preserved at its very core, but modernized for the fans of today with Wasteland 2. Immerse yourself in turn-based tactical combat that will test the very limits of your strategy skills as you fight to survive a desolate world where brute strength alone isnt enough to save you. Deck out your Ranger squad with the most devastating weaponry this side of the fallout zone and get ready for maximum destruction with the RPG-style character advancement and customization that made the first Wasteland so brutal. Save an ally from certain death or let them perish the choice is yours, but so are the consequences.
- One Size Does Not Fit All: Don't feel like finding the key for a door? Why not try a Rocket Launcher! Basically the same thing... right?
- Enhanced Classic RPG Game Play: Classic RPG game play ideas updated with modern design philosophies.
- Decision Making... with Consequences: With both short and long term reactivity to the players choices, every decision matters in the outcome of the story.
- Huge & Customizable: Dozens of hours of game. Hundreds of characters. Thousands of variations on your Rangers' appearance. Over 150 weapons. Dozens of skills. Even the UI can be customized.

Here is a template I started working on in the KS thread if you want to use it, but you're free to do something on your own of course. Or anybody else who wants to.
I've made a sample OT layout here, and am wondering if I should post it (unless someone else is eager). Obviously still need to agree on a thread title, there are some gems suggested![]()
