Batman Arkham Knight PC Players Still Finding Problems After Relaunch - IGN

Thought this was thread worthy as the game is still experiencing issues, even after 4 months. It's completely ridiculous and it should be known so nothing like this disaster ever happens again.

Issues include stuttering, plummeting frame rates and freezing, and these complains come from PC gamers all over Steam, Reddit and even a few on GAF in the other thread.

I hope it gets fixed soon for PC player's sake, and that's even if they'll still be playing this game this mess of a game these coming months.

Other websites have also started to pick this up to:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-10-29-batman-arkham-knight-is-still-broken-players-say

Just a quote to see how bad it is, from Eurogamer:

We asked Digital Foundry to take a quick look at the game as it stands - the results suggest that Batman: Arkham Knight today has seen no further improvements from its interim patch back in September.

The only noticeable changes were the addition of support for add-on and season pass content.

^^ That's gotta be a salt in the wounds. It shows what things they prioritize over customer experience. Absolute BS.

Yeah, press started to pick this up

ouch

Thanks, will add to OP.

I'm sure people are having problems but it now runs great for me.

I appreciate your own anecdote, but these types of posts aren't really helpful in this context since people are still experiencing problems. There were still people like you who had no problems on the original launch, but that doesn't help anyone. I mean no disrespect, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

Whooa, hold on to your horses. This is also a major change.

They did 'fix' the splash screen at least.

I guess I'll step in and post before the ardent defenders start posting their frame time charts to make sure the rest of us know that there's absolutely nothing wrong.

Shame on WB, Rocksteady and anyone else that had anything to do with how poorly this project turned out. Embarrassing start to finish.

BRB, going to download some more ram to avoid the paging issues that don't exist because #FrameTime GAF said it's fine now.

Did they need all this time just to program DLC support in?

To be fair, that's probably down to the core multiplatform parts of the codebase being updated to support the new content independently of the PC-specific development. Which doesn't make it much better, of course!

You have to wonder why they delayed the relaunch so long if they weren't planning on improving the performance any further after the September patch. It can't have taken over a month just to patch all the DLC in, right?

Should have expected this when the relaunch press release was nothing more than an advertisement for the Season Pass content, but I suppose I never considered that WB could get any scummier.

I understand but it's good for people to know that it's not broken for everyone. I booted it up on launch day and it was totally fucked. Deleted it and didn't reinstall until yesterday. Now it runs great.

Went from one of the worst PC ports ever made to the worst port ever.

The fact it's still broken is almost hilarious.

and that whole "compensation" thing is also a slap in the face on so many levels (quoting from the steam thread):

I'd also like to point out that the "compensation" for Arkham Knight owners is actually a promotional offer to purchase Batman: Arkhman Knight right now (from the Steam page):

Special Offer

  • Get the entire Batman: Arkham series with Batman: Arkham Knight!
  • Purchase Batman: Arkham Knight prior to 10AM Pacific Time on November 16th and receive the entire Batman: Arkham library. This includes Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY, Batman Arkham City GOTY, Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.

Special Offer

  • Batman: Arkham Knight includes Genuine quality Team Fortress 2 items!
  • Purchase Batman: Arkham Knight prior to 10AM Pacific Time on November 16th and receive up to 3 community generated Genuine quality TF2 items.
  • Generate and submit your own Batman inspired TF2 items to the Workshop for entry into the contest. The winning submissions receive over 20 Warner Brothers games. See the TF2 blog for more details. Complete contest rules can be found here.
  • The Batman inspired TF2 items will be delivered at the completion of the contest.

What a mess.

Edit: Wait, compensation is games most of those people (you know, your most loyal customers that actually buy your stuff day one) have or bought? Do they at least get an extra copy to gift if they already own it?

Goddamit WB, lol.

I played a 30 min test yesterday and I'll say I saw less fluctuation in the framerate, but I could never get above 50-55 at 1440p with a 980Ti. It's better than it was, but it's nowhere near where it's should be and a massive disappointment. It's an embarrassment and Rocksteady and WB should feel ashamed about it. They fucked it up hard. The fact that they have twice now raised the specs speaks to how much they really care. Can't play it with what we recommend? Brute force it.

Wtf, still no SLI?
This was like...an nvidia branded game and I thought I read that after the disastrous initial launch nvidia was helping them out with fixing their game.

wait, did they really change the splash screen? I find that a little embarrassing.

The only noticeable changes were the addition of support for add-on and season pass content.

FUCK THIS GAME!
excuse me.
Fuck this game and fuck Arkham Origins, too. Go fuck yourselves WB.

It's bordering on contempt at this point.

Guess some publishers still see PC as a "necessary evil" kinda deal where it generates good enough sales to sell your games on but because you're a dickwad publisher you don't really care for your product. WB and Rocksteady should be fucking ashamed.

Just love some of the comments on this thread lol. Complaining even though Rocksteady don't have to support their product, but choose to do anyway. Had this been EA or any other publishing house, they would tell the fans to fuck off as they made their money months ago.

It runs very well here too, but it's clear that those with lower end machines are not having a good experience unless they cap the fps at 30.

2500k
16 gb ram
980 TI

it stutters like shit

are you missing the part where the game still doesn't work after 4 months for a lot of players?( It's in the fucking thread title ffs) and the recent 2.4 GB patch only added DLC support bullshit?

Have you ever considered a career as a Republican politician?

Uh, WB didn't choose to support their product, they were forced to due to the incredible number of Steam refunds and lost revenue.

Don't pretend like they're doing us some sort of favor. They're simply trying to save their own asses.

Yup. Rockstead/WB are the good guys here. Let's not forget that they got screwed by Valve when they announced Steam Refunds a few weeks before launch. Poor guys.

I wouldn't say so. They've been amiable yhud far and bitching about it isn't going to help.
