I don't think this is being asked because FF15 has a shot of making it out at the same time.

I think they're checking the status of where the fuck the Final Fantasy IP even rates anymore with its target audience.

I think they can easily see that feedback online and through reception of their most recent titles, there's no need to ask the question unless there's financial stake involved. They're definitely gauging interest to see what a good window would be.

Maybe I should've been more clear. The anime style used in Persona turns me off(cartoony, colorful, etc). Never liked it, whether it's in games, TV/cartoons or movies. The style used in FFXV is not comparable to Persona.

If we compared Final Fantasy XIII to Persona 4, it would be about 7.5 million to maybe a bit over 1 million.

If we look at Japan in particular, as I noted early, it's not implausible we're comparing a 500K game to a 1 million to 1.5 million game, so you could see some amount of competition.

This is especially relevant for younger audiences who have very little tie to Final Fantasy, but have been receiving a lot of Persona products, and younger audiences make up a notably stronger portion in Japan than the West of the overall market.

They certainly shouldn't expect to get Tomb Raidered in any way, but I think there would still be a noticeable impact on sales.

When they're looking at the dev time and budget they've invested in to it already, they have to be trying to cherry pick a release window.

Final Fantasy XV demo was really fun, but Persona 5 is pure hype for me. I will buy both, but Persona will be no. 1 in my PS4 .
