I actually wished they would do a sequel, but this time with a AAA budget and talented artists and designers.

And a few characters that did go missing for whatever reason (and not talking about anything "FF-related" of course. People really did want their "Crash vs Spyro" matches).

It really annoys me that the gameplay looks so fun but everything else is so bad, especially the presentation...

Hard to believe it's coming from Capcom.

I nearly bought a key off of CDKeys until I saw this. Friend has been hyping me up with videos from HiFight on Twitter and other stuff in 4k from Maximilian Dood, which make the game genuinely look not-so-bad, but this menu... That combined with the uncertainty of the netcode since I thought Marvel3's online was trash garbage, and the rest of the questionable graphics/voices. I'll just wait.

The netcode is based on SFV's, so the odds of MvCI's online being (U)MvC3 levels of bad are unlikely.

oh fuuuuuuuuuck it's happening boys!

Apologies, but I feel like this is slightly redundant. It would be like saying "Deadpool was cheaper to produce than BvS and will end of making more money." Mind you the same can hold true here, but you are talking about a game by the fans for the fans compared to a game that Marvel still has the final word in what can happen during development.

Sega still fully had the final word on Sonic Mania and what can happen during development.

Even with all of the Marvel restrictions this game could have still looked 100000x better from a presentation standpoint.

I want to make a trip to NYC if I can guarantee that I'll snag a copy. If not I'll just meet up with a good friend that lives there and drink my sorrows away. If anyone knows what places to inquire about it please PM the deets.

No arguments there friend. The main point to be made is that Sonic Mania probably will turn a higher profit just because it was indeed cheaper to make and is being sold at a lesser cost than MvC:I.

As for MvC:I's presentation as a whole. It definitely could be alot better than it is right now for sure, and it will probably lead to a few points being taken off the overall score because of it.

Debating on whether or not to wait the week or figure out if I can find someone to ship it out express and take the hit uggggghhhhhhh

Just wait and use the money you save on DLC :p

Dang you rite you rite

I can wait I guess. I'll go digital so I can have it at 11:00 p.m. plus I wouldn't be able to play it until release date since I'm fairly busy.

Not a fan of how the menus look but they are whatever to me. Graphically it actually looks nice in terms of the character models.

Yup, main menu design is up there as my number one reasons why I don't buy videogames... good lord.

To be fair the poster mentioned several potential issues, not just the main menu and just decided to wait and see. All things combined, when you're concerned about the quality, I don't see how that's unreasonable at all.

Really, the menus don't need a lot. I don't need gaudy garbage floating around to make it look next gen or whatever. It just needs particular something to tie it all together thematically.

Hopefully some reasonably priced copies go up on eBay(lol) I bought kof xiv that way early and I think I only paid $10 more. That marvel tax might be high though.

I'd like it if the menus looked similar to Street Fighter V's.

I think the way the menus look in MvC∞ are cheap/rushed looking.

Really, I've never been able to find early copies of games on eBay. Or at least by the time it ships, it will get to you by release day.

dude literally said "I almost bought the game after my friend has been showing me the latest max videos and it doesnt look bad, but then I saw this menu and nope!"

the rest of the issues he has he already knew about, not to mention he's judging the netcode on a previous game (why not SF5 which is more recent for example?).

You go ahead and do whatever you want with your hard earned cash mate, but I have the right to think those reasons are or arent silly. Just like people would probably think my reasons to not get Injustice are silly for example.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
I see some marked up copies on ebay but cannot tell if they're if they're just pre-orders.

I've never really checked before but maybe it was because nobody cared since it was a niche game like KOF lol. I got it like the Thursday before a Tuesday launch. I imagine marvel/capcom will probably be cracking down more on early sales.

If a bad menu is what puts you off from buying then I have to assume you weren't all that interested in the first place. This isn't The Witcher 3 where your gonna spend half the time looking at menus.

Hmm, well, is it totally out of the question to ask if the UI can be completely modded? I know SFIV got a crap-ton of UI mods.

I'm actually gunning for the PC version, since I plan to play this offline anyway (smaller demographic on PC). I would have way more fun by myself with some cool mods.

The poster did not say they will never buy the game, that they hope Capcom goes bankrupt, or something silly like that. You're giving the person a hard time for changing their mind on pre-ordering the game.

It's great you have unconditional love for the game, but if you have uncertainties and things you dislike about what you have seen, and things with no reviews yet, it seems to me like waiting for user feedback and reviews before committing to buy it is a reasonable choice and not worthy of derision.

How is the netcode actually running with this game? (This game, not SFV). That was one of his concerns. Are there any hands-on reports with the online play with this game specifically?

The menus alone aren't going to put me off from buying the game, but them being so awful on top of every other disappointment isn't exactly a morale booster. I'm not even surprised anymore -- it's like the presentation is so bad across the board that of course the menus are going to look like shit. I can't think of a single aspect of this game outside of the gameplay that hasn't been a massive downgrade from the previous entry, be it the roster, art direction, music, cast, or voice direction. Japanese voices are gone. Arcade mode endings are gone. It's all just so frustrating and upsetting. This game should have been a home run.

The one thing I think is better is the characters that are mostly/entirely metal and have hidden faces look better in mvci (ironman w/ helmet on, nova)

Exactly. For someone already one the fence about pre-ordering and there are already quality concerns, the poor presentation doesn't inspire confidence in committing to spending your money on the game before people have had hands-on after release, especially if you were not happy with SFV's netcode quirks, and with no reports of performance in the real world out yet, $30 price tag or not. I can see how it might push someone over the edge to wait and see. People should wait for release and reviews if they don't have confidence in a product yet.

As in "Heathcliff"
All we know is the netcode will be rollback.

I just hope it's good. Too many games with good netcodes nowadays.

Hopefully so. I need a good netcode then I'm content with the game and hope they would make more DLC character next year. I've a feeling next year might solve the problem people had with the roster. Again it's going to depend on how well the game would sell so I wouldn't expect it tho.

Yep, considering the previous game in the series had a much better presentation (lack of story mode aside).

I'm disappointed with damn near everything about the game except for the gameplay. That being said, this is Marvel vs Capcom and I'm going to support this franchise because it's mahvel baby.
