Well, it must be readable for one. Infinite is mostly good in that regard, though it could use further indication that Infinity Storm can be used (the stone's additional glow is very mild and the line in the gauge itself is a bit thin) but you can still tell at a glance whether or not you have enough.
But also it has no personality to speak of, which is a huge downgrade after 3 (and to a lesser extent Ultimate) had such good HUDs, especially compared to 2.
Look at the character portraits and how they sit on a random gradient that you can barely tell has form besides a rectangle. I bet you didn't notice it actually has a cut-off that suddenly thins when it goes further toward the centre of the screen.
The way combos are graded also harkens back to Marvel 2, which is not a good thing. Ugly block letters that now at least have an effect while appearing.
The tiny chromatic aberration when switching gives the tagging weight, but chromatic aberration is already used too much in this game (see how the K.O. sign appears, for example). Of course this also has the standard "get hit and the health bar lights up a bit" that most Capcom fighter do, which is still fine.
Overall, it's functional, but doesn't have any real style. Which I guess fits what they were going for the game, so mission accomplished.
Shoutouts to the tagged character indicator that's barely visible in hectic situations. It's trying so hard.

I agree, I personally liked Ultimate's HUD more, you could see the lifebars better and the colored hyper meters looked very clean and fitting for the game IMO.
Yep, UMvC3's HUD and UI were much better than whatever we've seen in Infinite. With that said, if I find the game here as soon as Tuesday next week I might just not be able to contain myself and end up buying it lol.
I think the pulsing red dots that pulsed brighter and eventually flashed big red X were good indicators. Not as good as say, the big glowing X from Ultimate, but it was still super obvious. Unless you mean the X Factor timer? In which case both had horrible tells (red outline along the health bar? When you have a full big red X on screen? C'mon, Ultimate!)
That and Ultimate made knowing which partner is which button more confusing.

The dots are barely visible when player has access to level 1 x-factor (and even with level 3 x-factor it's not that clear as the big X). The point of a fighting game UI is that you get all the information you need at a quick glance. Also the red dot appearing on every health bar is redundant. I don't think the big X is the best solution, but at least indicates to newer players (and most) that it applies to all characters and is one time use. In fact I probably would have put X-factor with the hyper bar meter (like Ultras and infinity storm meter)...
Also I agree with Coda that the life bars being smaller makes it harder to read health left. I think DBFZ has done a much better job with their UI than MvC3, but obviously they had them to reference for it....
Catching up to Max's MvC Legacy videos, and you know what'd be neat? If character in MvCI had individual logos like in MSH. Most (all?) of the Marvel side already has their own ones in existence, but it'd be neat to see comic logo designs for the Capcom roster as well.
Though given that this game seems almost ashamed of comic books and their aesthetics, it's a moot point.
We haven't seen anything pointing towards his inclusion. The only thing Doc Ock has going for him is that he almost got in the MvC3 series of games, which can also be said for Miles Morales & Gene. At least Green Goblin was hinted at by Marvel Games during SDCC.

You both have some points. I guess I just don't see how anyone could have "inside" info on 5 fucking games. Just seems really unlikely to me.
I thought they'd throw in Doctor Octopus since they had assets from UMvC3 left and it's Capcom so... (laziness, why not use what we got ). Didn't know about Miles Morales & Gene.
I know, thats what I meant with "assuming it doesnt have any denuvo shenanigans", not "assuming it doesnt have denuvo". Then I said it shouldnt be a problem for modding since T7 has denuvo also and it has mods.
The same crazy people greenlit a AAA first person horror game, RE2 remake, a new MvC, and a AAA open world console MH. There's nothing really crazy about Capcom making a new DMC, and at this point they need more games to fill their line-up.
They're gonna do it the same way they've done most of these. Save on costs wherever they can. In DMC's case it probably means lot of asset reuse and modest visuals.
I have seen some stages, and the training mode stage looks so plain looking that I hope that is not the only selectable stage whenever I go to training mode, and they don't ruin my ears with that lame "I wannna take you for a ride" select screen music that was in MvC3, and it cannot be changed in that game.
How the hell was it expensive? They reused half of the game LMAO!
A lot of the expense of DMC4 went into changing engines multiple time then making multiple versions after it was a PS4 only title. That's not going to be an issue this time around when they have a clear picture of which systems it will be on.

A sequel in their best-selling franchise trying to exploit the novelty/popularity of Amnesia-like games.
A remake of one of their best-selling games in a still highly popular franchise.
A new fighter with one of the world's most popular brands.
A Western-oriented sequel for one of their best-selling franchises.
None of those sound crazy to me. Dropping big bucks on a semi-dead ip does sound kinda crazy.
Thinking we may see some copies popping up today. At least that's from what I hear. I'm hoping I can snag an early copy, I'm at that drug addict fiend level now for the game.

I had this picture for like three weeks since he made a thread for the leak.
Timeline so people would understand why he's a fraud with MVCI rumor section
August 19 - He posted a leak about upcoming characters, which only have
Wolverine, Star-Lord, Green Goblin, Ms. Marvel, Doctor Doom, Asura, Lady, Captain Commando, Nina and Deis / Bleu.
August 19 - someone came into that thread and said that he heard Vergil is also coming too. (Second Leaker said Vergil, Lady, Wolverine and Star-Lord)
August 24 - New Dino Crisis rumor popped up. Source: Dino Crisis Rumor
September 5 - He decided to post the rumor once again at Reddit in order to get more attention, and decided to add Venom, Regina and Vergil to the roster, alone with other games rumors. Yeah, those three characters weren't coincidence so he just borrowed characters from those rumors and add top of his rumor list.

Oh, no, don't take those posts as support for the "leak". Like Heath wrote, it's most likely fake as heck.
And to be fair, Doctor Octopus did get mentioned in the run up to MvCI's release, where an interviewer asked if he'd be paired with Asura because of the multiple arms thing

TL;DR: The MvCI part of the rumor is most likely not the one Max heard about.
I posted the image linking the /r/Kappa MvCI list to the one on GameFAQs a few pages ago, but thanks for bringing it back up. I guess that narrows down the potential options......by one game.

Yo guys a friend of a friend whose been there since the start but has kept feeding me info on the downlow just laid out the road goin forward for MVCI content. Its totes legit and he should know because he's the guy at capcom and ALL his uncles work for nintendo.
Captain Commando
Vergil
Nero
Asura
Dr. Wily (says he's a summon character. Uses master bots for attacks like Doronjo stuff and can summon mettools and other enemies as slow moving ground and air obstacles.)
Wolverine
Silver Surfer
Gwenpool
Squirrel Girl
Devil Dinosaur w/moon girl. (ridiculously large character. Apparently the idea is grabs and armor you can't escape. Bet they're right with that time stone lol)
Heroes and Heralds mode (still no local multiplayer. Sorry man)
1v1 mode with assists
3v3 mode with no assists or tags. KOF style marathon but you can choose 3 stones and give each character one or multiples if you feel like leaving a dude with no stones.
Chun Li has 4 outfits planned for season 1. They're gonna dress her like classic characters from various stuff. Like R Mika, Roll's dress, and even as Scarlet Witch and Jessica Jones. No other dlc outfits planned.
New stage. Hell's Kitchen unemployment offices. Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil are all in the background.

Outside of Amnesia and Outlast, the success of games like them were basically unproved outside of those two. Alien Isolation had a pretty big brand attached and underperformed. No matter what it's a sequel to in a franchise of, a AAA first-person horror game is way more crazy than DMC5 imo, even if DMC-type games have gone away in recent years.
RE2 was best-selling 20 years ago on a different platform in a different market, and REmake underperformed initially.
Capcom already had a fighting game on the market, the last MvC was 6 years ago, the franchise's existence has always hinged on Marvel wanting to play ball, and DMC was always a bigger seller and more popular.
World is the first console MH since 2009 (none of which have done well previously), the first AAA HD MH, and the intended course of the franchise going forward despite massive success on handhelds and way less so on consoles.
DMC still sells, and had mainline releases in 2013 and 2015, the most recent of which being directed by Itsuno. When did it become semi-dead?
