Crytek will release Crytek Remastered for PlaySation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

The news was leaked via the metadata on a Cookie Policy page of the official Crysis website, which included the above artwork.

The metadata description is as follows:

Yes, the main issue in originally trying to port crysis to 360/ps3 was RAM, i think they needed at least 2gb.

It would be nice with the entire trilogy. But Crysis 1 is nice too. Very fun game, although I have a softer heart for the sequel.

To be honest, this hardware never fails to impress me. The Switch library is filled with "Impossible ports", The Witcher 3 being the most impressive one. A decent Crysis port, handled by the right team, is not completely out of the ordinary.

FFS, since the beginning of this gen people are asking for a Crysis Trilogy Remaster and now that next gen is around the corner and people are asking for a Crisis Trilogy for next gen (or Crysis 4) they do one for the aging current gen. the question is more how compromised is the Switch port.

This is actually great for PC gamers as I would imagine a PC remaster would include (for the first time ever) actual proper multi-core CPU support. This was the bottle neck with Crysis 1 that still holds the game back even today.

At 144p, sure!

the question is more how compromised is the Switch port.

The 360/PS3 versions were already compromised/castrated versions of the original. Simplified/dumbed-down powers, more restrictions in levels, some levels removed entirely, etc.
That + a lower display resolution = the Switch version

I remember being so disappointed with Crysis 2. Never finished it. Didn't bother playing Crysis 3 at all.

Crysis 1 was so much fun. Great environments. Throwing those Koreans into buildings and seeing it all collapse. Playing around with explosions (barrels, shooting down helicopters). It was like a huge and beautiful playing ground. Oh, and it had vehicles. Bring on this remaster!

I actually preferred the seamless power transition on consoles way more than PC's static switch, the console version had more in common gameplay-wise with the original trailer of the game, which is what made me get the game in the first place:
