I tried reading the novel but can't say i liked it very much.
I feel its success was largely due to being one of the first contemporary isekai

Personally, i'm still waiting for the day they make a Sevens anime, still don't get how this series doesn't even have a manga adaptation yet

Novel? Never read it (don't plan to anyway) and I'm talking about the anime. It is well animated, great pacing, nice character development so far. Can't wait for episode 4.

I guess its not great to some but to each his/her own, like I don't know why Re-Zero (anime) was so great.
