Vampire Survivors |OT| There are some very good reasons to be afraid of the dark

I got the new achievements so back at 100%. Still a few secrets to unlock.

I noticed much worse performance on Deck from the previous update on the late-late game stuff.
Also some text scaling issues with descriptions too.

There is a similiar fan game of Vtuber group Hololive called Holocure. It's free, cause fan game, and maybe can become a good demo if $5 is too risky for you

Managed to evolve all 6 weapons on the first stage.

That was a nice power trip, I spent the last minutes standing still while mowing down whatever dared to come close to me.

Once the skeletons show up, everything goes to shit for me.

So I go the 2 new artifacts. I can't get back to that level to get the final achievement
(fireworks)
Any thoughts? I'm also missing an item in collections now, I'm 128/129, it's next to the egg.

Go to a new game and enable the new mode you unlocked. You can quit out without beating that mode. This will unlock the final "boss". Defeating them unlocks the fireworks weapon & achievement.

Finished the new content and got the new achievements. This is a hell of a game, anyone on the fence should definitely give it a shot. I mean, it's $4. I'm now at over 60 hours played.

Hit 30 mins in the forest for the first time. Fuckin untouchable at the end, felt great! On to the library/other characters

Is it even possible to make it to 30 minutes? I've died twice at 29:54. Despiste doing untold amounts of damage there are just too many enemies on screen.

Seems like the game is 75% upgrade strategy and 25% movement/horde management strategy so far for me. Although by the end of my 30 min run I probably could've just stood still and not worried too much.

Bought it for like 2 EUR what it was back then in EA, played an hour, loved it, never knew of this genre, put it away until the final version comes out. Didn't know it's already now! Seeing how many EA games telling you the obligatory "probably one year in EA" and are still in EA after two years...

Will be great on my Steam Deck (once it returns from RMA *cries in handheld format*).

I will say, it does feel like an insane version of tecmo bowl or Madden at times where I'm like oh shit there's weak spot, run through that hole!!

Yeah that's what I figured. Probably gotta have the right build order to make a long run.

yep!
You can even make it the whole 30 minutes without moving at all if you pick the right stuff!
... or at least it was possible many builds ago

That feel when evolved daggers.

Shits perfect for tearing a hole throug a horde when you need to escape. Also great at stun-locking big baddies.

Get some bible in your life.
Already have. It's my safe space. :lollipop_content:

My fav weapons so far are the whip for self preservation, daggers, fireballs, bible, thunder ring and garlic. I like this combo because when aiming at evolving all those you end up with lots of very fast projectiles, self healing and the thunders which I lile because they always it something.

I'm sure there are better builds but so far this is working. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

First time on library: "oh man all these buffs make this too easy I'm totally OP now…"

29 and something minutes rolls around and I get kamikazed to death: FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU…..

Library ✅

The rush during the last 15-20 seconds brought the Deck to its knees, JFC.

Just bought Persona 5 Royal, might divide my attention for a bit

holy shit how is this so addictive. I've played for 2 hours, turned off laptop, started thinking about the game, turned it on again and finished another run. Now im lying in bed and thinking about playing it :messenger_neutral:

Alright, today is the day. Vampire Survivors is out on Xbox, so I picked up my $5 copy and will see if it's worth all the non-stop praise it's been getting here and elsewhere. It's possible this might be the only true contender for GOTY vs Horizon Forbidden West.

Being that Vampire Survivors only requires a single thumb to play via controller, what do you all like to do with your free hand while playing?

Played a few rounds and went ahead and purchased it since it's so cheap. I don't think I'd ever claim it's my GOTY like I've seen other people claim. But it's definitely fun and addicting to play. Great GP addition.

Ending up just buying it for xbox. Was going to sub to gamepass because of Somerville, Ghost Song, and Vampire Survivors but I've heard enough praise for VS that I figured, for 5 bucks, why not just buy it. Looking forward to playing it later today.

It only gets better the further you get into it. I am legitimately debating between this and Elden Ring as my GOTY.

I just discovered the permanent upgrades, so that will be fun.

I think I maxed out at like 12 minutes. Definitely going to keep chipping away at it. With Quick Resume you can just jump in and play some rounds even if you only have a short amount of time to game.

My best run so far is lvl81 on the milk map, @ 29-30min. I maxed out and evolved all my items during that run and the only upgrades from then on were +25 gold drops over and over.

I eventually died to a solid floor of golems.

It will get easier with new characters. I agree the game gets better with time. Poe is my fav, because garlic (especially when you evolve it) and then bible combo is great! Lasted 28 minutes on my last run.

Good fun game.

Pretty shit at it getting killed many times around level 15. Just started so I only played about 5 times doing few power ups as I only got so much gold.

My last game was the best using the 4th default character (the Barbadian guy with extra projectiles). Hit level 40.

One thing I didn't get, maybe a glitch? I'm playing as normal picking up gems and slowing creeping to level up.

But then one time it suddenly level upped like 6 or 7 levels in a row one after another a second apart.

Did o do something crazy so I earned 6 levels in one swoop? And this was a little bit in while playing they barbarian like when I was around level 20.

I've just been focusing on bible, garlic and the pigeon doing crazy laser beam. Whatever has area or effect or sweeping attacks I've been doing. I find doing the whip or aiming with daggers shit unless I'm doing it wrong.
