Guerrilla Collective 2024 Showcase

So far this showing has been extremely solid and it goes back to what has been pointed out lately in other threads: Dev tools are becoming easier to use and indie devs are getting better as well.

With both simultaneously happening, it's becoming less of a rarity that indie games are good, and more of a rarity that indie games are incredible.

Compare this to 10 years ago, or even 5. The bar went up.

They fucked up. There was a short clip of a turn-based game (one of my most anticipated), but they gave it the wrong name. It is Project Haven, but they used that name for another game.

Wait, who actually owns the Clock Tower I.P.? Nvm, noticed the small Capcom logo at the end of the trailer.

The horror genre is the only genre that I worry about when it comes to indie.

I just hope that these devs are taking these older styles of games and are finding ways to improve upon their formula and gameplay, rather than just copying the awkwardly slow gameplay from the PS1/N64/SAT generation.

That was the exact game that made me start to worry about the horror genre lol. It looks good but the way she was moving around made me nervous about it's controls.
I had an amazing time with Them and Us (2021). I am looking forward to Echoes of the Living. Tormented Souls 2 has some impressive looking early stuff. They are deriviative but I can't help but enjoy them all the same.

That was okay. Not a single addition to my wishlist, unfortunately, but I missed the first hour or so.

Jesusfudgepackingchrist that was a lot of great looking games!

I didn't expect there to be so damn many in this showcase, but here we are. So many standouts my brain is just flooded with information, and I know there were a few that I'd kinda known about, some I'd seen on Game Trailers and such, but holy shit nonetheless.

Beyond The Ice Palace II looks incredible, and the fact that it's a sequel to an obscure Castlevania clone from 1988 and it's aesthetics being from some other nebulous time period have really piqued my interest in this title.
