eh ...

I enjoyed it with little to no knowledge of the grand lore.

Same. Zero previous experience with the universe, loved it.

Awesome coop game. Trudging through the campaign with my bro ultrazilla ultrazilla has been fun. Still need to finish it. Game is really well done mostly, including the audio and atmosphere. They nailed the Warhammer vibe through and through. But that old game cliche "hold this area and fight waves of enemies while doing this other thing" can get a bid repetitive. Still though, my vote for the "Plays Best With Friends" year end award(s) on Steam.

I’m absolutely loving this after playing it for the last couple of days. One of the big surprises of the year. And I think it has amazing graphics. It probably impressed me more in that department than anything else apart from Silent Hill 2.

I just love a cozy corridor shooter with superb visuals. The music could be better and that’s it.

Well done on the sales.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Do you have to understand or care about warhammer for this game?
Maybe play the first game first. It's short and should be dirt cheap.

I played that one with 0 knowledge about WH40K and enjoyed it a lot.

This was my first warhammer game. Enjoyed it very much.
The first Space Marine game was sort of my introduction to the world of Wh40k.

Now you can start doing some lore diving....

I have to be honest. I loved the graphics and aesthetics but I found the campaign to be boring and very repetitive. I didnt like much this game unfortunately

I like the combat but hate the counter/finisher give armor system (and the game give you litte to non heal) . Finished the campaign and never go back .

There's no way to access this game other than to pay for it.

It's a single player game, there's no demo, it's not free to play and it's not on Gamepass. I'd wager that just about every player bought the game.

Game sharing ( not even talking about Share between 2 different console) 1 purchase can be shared among multiple profiles on console.

This is a blessing and a curse.

Warhammer 40,000 is pretty much going mainstream and that really isn't the good thing you want it to be....

The actual best game of the year! Amazing graphics, animations, lore, and characters.

First big Warhammer 40k game and a massive success and it did the lore justice. A game with a nice campaign and both a pve and pvp multiplayer mode giving us that old school prime Halo and timesplitters vibe. Great bonus credit for a non woke game from a western dev and one where they mentioned they just wanna make a great game without worrying about politics which is what they did.

I bought this on pc and played like 3 missions with some buddies but been unable to get the group together since .

If anyone's interested in doing the campaign.

Giantess Slaneesh Keeper of Keeper Greater Daemon boss in the Space Marine 3 please and also throw in a cool Necron Transcendent C'tan Shard for the Necron and Slaanesh Daemon combo.

you'll get it real quick.
endless war, hope is futile, everybody dies. glory to the emperor!

Not really.
This is the 3rd-4th WH game that I'm playing and I still don't know shit about its universe/lore etc.

Also : every chatter/cutscene/banter...they might as well be talking about pink unicorns roasting marshmallows 'cause if you're not into the whole lore everything sounds nonsensical, not to mention, silly since everything (names/locales etc) is a bastardization of Greco-Latin names and terms.
I get that fans are delighted by such releases and that's OK, thing is, this is a decade's old franchise and nothing makes sense unless you've seen countless YT videos/have friends that explained things etc etc and Space marine 2 is no exception - besides the fact that the "twist" in the end only has an impact if you actually played the 1st game.

As for the game itself... it's basically a co-op horde shooter/action game, there's little to no variation and everything gets boring fast if you're not a hardcore WH fan.
The Single player is basically the same as the MP co-op part with some cutscenes thrown in and the MP part is the typical grind where you play just to lvl up your character class, boredom can set in easily since there's only a handful of available missions.

It's an honest game lads, don't get me wrong but, personally, I wouldn't have given it more than a 6.5-7/10 if I were to review it.

Cheers

PS : I have 40 hours in the game and it's mainly by playing the co-op missions.

PS2: I have Darktide preordered and ready to go - can't wait till Tuesday to play it so I'm not randomly "hating ®" on the franchise
