Never played Octo or any game that resembles it.

But I'd fully admit the art style is great. Not sure what style you even call it. It's kind of like an old SNES RPG but done looking with better res, colours, effects and lighting.

Great news, I really enjoyed both original Octopath and its sequel.

Its official name is HD -2D and this art style all started with Octopath.

Good, great IP...now return to Bravely Default!!!!!!!!!!!!! (or remaster those old ones) lol
I very much want one as well.

As much as I like HD-2D visuals I dont want SE do that with Bravely series because that game has its own unique visuals design with hand drawn background and towns.

Truth.

As an illustrator, I love their environments. I have all the Bravely Default artbooks

The first game was addictive like few others for me. Kept me glued to the TV for around 80 hours. Even if the stories of the different characters remain mostly independent, they’re well written and the gameplay loop is great.
I started 2, but I had to put it on standby for several reasons. It still seems to be another good game, with plot lines that pull no punches and would surely be considered peak video game storytelling if done by ND with realistic graphics and limitless budget.

I’m very happy for the success of the series, even if it’s probably peanuts by Squex expectations.

I liked the first one and loved the second. I hope they’ll consider doing a physical release of Octopath Traveler I for the PS5, as I’d like to have both games on the same system.

Each entry sold more than Rebirth ?
Highly doubtful considering FF Rebirth had crossed the 2 Million mark in around a month from release.

Octopath traveller "series" assuming you do an even split between Octopath 1 and Octopath 2 would be 2.5M. Octopath doesn't show in any charts but FF Rebirth has been charting throughout the year so has likely surpassed Octo 2 several times over.

You can't really do even splits because octo 2 sold way less than 1 aswell.
If you do the FF 7 "series" it would be a massive difference between Octopath and FF.

I really hope that Rebirth keeps selling and yeah, it’s a much bigger game so that makes sense if it sells a lot more.

I also hope Octopath keeps selling as well. I found second game was quite a bit better than the first and made good improvements. Hopefully the series made enough ¥ to continue.
