Which failure was the funniest?

Battleborn was actually great. I have friends who still miss it. They just launched it right at the same time as Overwatch and it got killed with the Blizzard hype.

I have honestly never heard of Hyenas or Lawbreakers.

Concord being a high budget Guardians rip off tick box and being nixed so quickly is worthy of a chuckle as well as an analysis or two.

Sega nipped Hyenas late in development after some beta testing. It would have suffered Concord's fate.

Where's the poll bro.

Anyway, for me it's Concord. What a way to waste 400 millions of dollars.

Lawbreakers is pretty funny just because of Cliffy B's refusal to let it go.
But Concord is the funniest, just because it was pulled and refunded and had the "Professor".

Anthem (like yea folks, gaems that should have been grand and epic with several years of dev time faild be4 da woek deiz). Maybe Beyond Good & Evil 2 should qualify since that's apparently so bad we've not even seen it release (and if we ever do I'm sure it's not gonna be as developed before).

I'm gonna throw a curveball and go with Hyenas because these stupid motherfuckers at Sega took the team that made the ciritically acclaimed singleplayer horror game Alien Isolation and said "you know what, we want you guys to make a multiplayer team-based looter shooter and have some of the most ghastly character designs imaginable, okay?"

At least Concord actually released, albeit for two weeks. Hyenas was so fucking terrible the game was basically done but they didn't even bother releasing because not even the developers' own family wanted to play it.

Redfall personally because arkane fans would not stop talking how they would blindly buy anything from the studio because of how amazing they were
And then having to face the reality

Starfield not putting the world on fire was funny too, mostly because all the astroturfing threads

There was the time Randy Pitchfork tried to get Battleborn porn to be a thing...

Funniest!?

Dude, everyone looses with this
Nah bro all those laughs were a great free-to-play experience.

Plus it sends the message that shitty games don't make profit, which is good for us.

First time a game has been pulled off the shelves in my 8 years working at a video game store.

Concord's failure is a case to be studied.

It's risky for studios to be running by grandpas like Sega, Bethesda etc...

Looking at that picture, the blonde has big tits. Can't say I ever followed it for gameplay reasons or other forms of pleasure.

EDIT - 161 pictures on a r34 site. The blonde wasn't the most popular character.

Nah going to market with the hope that somehow all the metrics were wrong and you could somehow force the game to be a success only to quit after only two weeks is funnier than just quitting before launch.

Concord.

Sony just need to do two things...release 3 games as a GAAS... Socom, Killzone and TLOU Factions (maybe Gran Turismo too).
And focus the rest of the teams in single player experiences (some of them with multiplayer vs or coop)

they literally bragged about how they worked with "the drag community" to make that middle character.

Have you ever heard of any other game that cost a studio hundreds of millions of dollars only to be completely shut off and the studio axed within a fortnight? There's levels to this and Concord sits on top of the pile.

Concord, no contest. Think of the cost involved, the reaction to the first reveal trailer, the horrible character design, the incredibly short life before its recall from the market, the shutting down of firewalk studio, and of course the legendary memes.

How the hell any other game will top it?

I don't know about funniest but Concord was the most embarrassing. The fact that Sony went all in and claimed it would be the future of Playstation says all about how out of touch they are right now. It was so awful that I actually felt second hand embarrassment as a lifelong fan. In fact this whole live service push they've got going now is so cringe that I just don't want to bother with PS anymore. And 2025 have even more slop to be pushed on the fanbase like Fairgames and Marathon. Urgh.

Slightly off topic from the games OP mentioned but i was messing around on Steam last night and saw something interesting. Well you know how a certain section are convinced Indiana Jones sold poorly, well you want to see poor check this.

Indiana Jones, 7900 user reviews, released 3 weeks ago.

Star Wars Outlaws, 1700 user reviews, released 6 weeks ago.

Christ!.
