Is there a better flavor combo than Grilled cheese and tomato soup?

It's a joke about the kind of foods here, very english, in contrast with spanish cuisine.

I love english food, but as you all know, Spain as a whole, together with Italy and some Asian countries, have the power of the tasties.

A 10-15 min bocata I make is rural bread 🥖 with breaded pen chicken breasts 🍗, fried, sliced fresh Murcia tomatoes 🍅, little green Padrón peppers 🫑, fried, curado cheese slices 🧀, a fried egg 🍳 and everything splorched with generous quantities of best valencian Ali-Oli. All the frieds in the best local Virgin Olive Oil, of course. I don't drink much, but if it strikes me fancy, a glass of either a good chilled white or strong 14-15° degrees Monastrell grape local red wine. Everything is either local or from less than 1h away. And nope, we don't get the 'but it came from small producers villages' tax 😎🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻 since we are the small town/big village (35.000 souls) heh heh heh
That sounds good but not the kind of easy food combo grilled cheese and tomato soup is.

Coffee and donuts is pretty fucking good combo, this might be my all time favorite combo. They just go so well together. Just below that is an everything bagel with cream cheese and coffee.

Salted peanuts and beer is a pretty good one too.

I'm not a big tomato soup person. I like broccoli and cheese or some kind of white chowder like clam chowder for instance.

Hot, just out of the oven mafaldina with sesame and a couple of slices of italian mortadella with pistacchio, absolute paradise

Op proposition sound nasty.

Porridge (oatmeal for our American friends), natural chocolate protein powder and a handful of raspberries.

Ofcourse. Depends on the person.

Flemish crispy fries and peanut sauce and mayonnaise

Now I want amsterdam old grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup

Damn you B Blade2.0
Last 2-3 trips i gave up because the line in the good places were absurdly long.

What the fuck happened in the past years? Worldisney tier of line for good fries or even for those fucking van stapele biscuits at every time of the day...

Yeah, tomato-based stuff paired with cheese-based stuff can't miss. Another soup/sandwich combo I really like is PB&J + Split Pea. Something about it just works.

Hell yeah, OP. Grilled cheese and tomato soup go together like PB&J, or Sloan and American Standard. It's the perfect combo.

Doesn't even have to be gourmet. I love a classic grilled cheese on white bread with a Campbell's tomato soup. It slaps literally every time, and I probably eat this once a month.
