Viktor Antonov, Art Director for Half-Life 2 and Dishonored, Has Passed Away

Arkane's art style was awesome. Very talented guy, sad to hear of his passing. Hopefully the guy is in creative nirvana now...

RIP Didn't realize they had the same art director. The tallboys from Dishonored always reminded me a lot of the HL2 Striders. Makes sense now.

Horrible news. His works for Half-Life 2 and Dishonored are epic contributions to the medium of visual arts in general, not only videogames.

This is a very painful loss. I was a huge fan of his works.

Absolutely gutted over this.

He was born less than 100 miles from where I live. Seeing some stuff from here recreated in Half-Life 2 was something my mind couldn't fully comprehend at that time.

His contributions were a big part of what made HL2 (and Dishonored) special. What a special talent. This one stings.
RIP my man.

RIP. He did fantastic work building worlds millions of people loved. Looks like he was only in his 50s too.

RIP

One of the best and timeless art style in a game ever. He was in the 20th anniversary and looked healthy. Really fucked up.

Yep, saw that this morning. Absolutely sucks, his ability to blend industrial design with fantasy, sci-fi and supernatural elements was always great, and you could visually tell if he worked on a game at a glance of the environment.

His touch was really unique. I remember that when I first play Dishonored I thought "Wow, how interesting this game's environment looks alike Half Life 2".

So much later I learned they were designed by the same person. Requiescat in pace.

Why is it that during the last 3 years the ones that died are talented, bellowed people and legends even, but not the one who is hated by the whole world and who killed hundreds of thousands? It's fuckin' unfair :messenger_face_steam:

RIP Anton:messenger_loudly_crying:
