I tried some games but always return to Monter Hunter since nothing can grab my attention, these are some games that are on my mind to give it a go, which one do you guys recommend ?

Xenoblade Chronicles
Trails Through Daybreak
Dragons Dogma 2
Granblue Fantasy: Relink

I m accepting suggestions too.

Granblue looks fantastic visually but the story seems generic and the combat system was, at least in the demo, simple button mashing.
DD2... please no, unless you're looking for an adventure game. Everything else, from dialogues, to story, to actual role playing is just mediocre at best.

Trails has an excellent reputation. You probably can't go wrong with it. Same with Xenoblades. I'd go for the latter.

I'm not a regular JRPG player and find most of them borderline unbearable and cringe, but I really enjoy Xenoblades Chronicles Definitive Edition right now (except for those MMO style fetch quests, which I completely ignore).

If you've played the trails games previously, I'd say go with Daybreak. The Calvary arc is better than Cold Steel(so far). Vann is not as annoying as Rean. If you haven't played the previous Trails then Xenoblade would get my vote.

I have only played Xenoblade. Its good.

I did found it to be overly long with a ton of walking. But overall its well made, well balanced, fun to play, and has interesting game world.

i just start playing Sky some years ago, but since i discovered that this franchise has a dozen of games and all the story is connected i just droped out, i heard that Daybreak is a clean slate, that why i m interested, is that true or i need to play the other games first to understand what is happening in the world ?

DD1 was good at the time and DD2 was just more of the same thing. It has its moments and then it just feels like a run of the mill type game again. Nothing amazing, but nothing terrible. Granblue's announcement was epic, but I had zero interest in it by the time it actually came out. It reminded me of Tales of Arise. Never tried Trails due to other RPGs, but I've heard it was super long. I'd say Xenoblade if you haven't played it yet. The music, art, and enemies are real good.

Is it even good as an adventure game? I've heard it's repetitive af.
It does have a great sense of adventure when traversing the land. It might be repetitive after a certain amount of hours, but I didn't get that far because so many other facts cast me off.

These are some of my favorite games of all time. Pick any convenient for you:
  • Mass Effect Trilogy
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • God of War 3
  • Katana Zero
  • Dead Space
  • Command and Conquer: Generals
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Ori and The Will of Wisps
  • Unheard
  • The Witcher 3
  • Call of Duty Modern Warfare Trilogy (OG)
  • Doom (2016)
  • Nier: Replicant (2021)
  • Bioshock
  • Chrono Trigger

Honestly I understand why you can't decide, none of those games are exceptional.

Play Lies of P or SMTV Vengeance, depending on your current mood.

Xenoblade Chronicles is fun but its mostly carried by the world, story and music. The combat isn't very good IMO, specially compared to some of the newer entries in the series.

Haven't played the others but none of them sound particularly appealing to me.
DD2 I skipped at launch because of the awful performance, but most of what I've heard about it since sounds disappointing as hell
Trails I've always been interested in but the whole "you should play these 84 games to fully understand the story" angle seems annoying. I'll probably get the remake of Trails in the Sky 1 later this year though.
Grandblue I skipped after hearing the story is underwhelming and sort of assumes you are familiar with the world and characters through the mobile game.

It's just another arc. You'll miss out on some links to the other arcs, but it not a huge deal. My option is you can get into the trails series at the beginning of any of the story arcs. The first game of each arc starts off a little slow, but slowly sucks you in.

Sadly 90% of the players never rushed this point :(

I have a feeling you're right and it's disappointing :(

It's a remake and sequel in the same package. And it's fuckin' awesome.

Granblue definitely.

I'd wait on Xeno, just until we know what's happening with Switch 2 improvements/patches - if there are any

Katana Zero looks pretty fun on this list that I have not played.

The gameplay is perfection. You're lighting quick but so ar the enemies and you die in one shot, but you can deflect any bullets by swinging your sword as well. The game is completely diegetic from the start of the main menu till credits and everything in between; absolutely no other game ever is like this as far as my knowledge goes.

Oh and the story is a complete mind-fuck that will haunt you for years.

Everyone reading please give this game a consideration. Its a masterpiece; I don't use that term lightly.

Stellar Blade
Final Fantasy Rebirth
Space Marine 2

Granblue Fantasy Relink is also good but the top 3 above are the best. I'll add Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.

Trails through Daybreak is excellent - but like all trails games, you get more out of it the more of the prior entries you've played. I've only played some of cold steel series (1&2) before picking up Daybreak and I *know* for a fact that I'm getting some asides/cutscenes that make more sense as I played those, but I also know there's a bunch of stuff I'm missing.

Gran Blue does play like a monster hunter game in that you decide what materials you need and select the enemy that is likely to drop them and then jump on your airship and go bash said enemy. The story/campaign is pretty short but good fun (except that lava level) <- definitely one to try if you enjoy going after large bosses like in monster hunter (which is what Gran Blue's endgame system is basically).

I've only heard great things about Xenoblade, so if I had a switch2 in the future I'd jump on that series so damn fast...

Def gonna give it a go, its $9 on Gameplanet now.

If anyone is looking for a 6-8 hour game on the cheap. I loved my time with "Killer Frequency"

You are a DJ in a radio station and the whistling man is killing people and you man the phones as the 911 dispatcher

Fun game, exploring the station, playing records, putting on commercials, decisions you make are life and death for those you help
GREAT game

On sale for $10

That sounds like burnt out, I don't blame you, you are not the only one.
Am I burnt out from modern games? Not really. Sure, I have my gripes, but overall, I think gaming is in a good spot

What I'm more burnt out on is the constant stream of complaints about how gaming is supposedly worse now, or how this generation of games is a letdown

It's the same old 'everything was better in the past' narrative, and it's honestly always been tiresome whether it's movies, music, sports, or games

i m trying this one since morning, but i cant leave colony 9 since side quests doesn't stop pop in and i cant leave those "!" unchecked since i have a problem with uncompleted markers, does side quest never end ?

They're finite but also a huge amount of them.

Trust me, you have to put OCD on the side for this game or you'll be 300 hours in.

the problem isn't putting 300 hours into it, the problem is that atm ALL sidequest are fetch quest of the worst kind

music so far is great, combat looks fun and characters also looks fun, but this damn side quest.... geez

I'm currently like that with Xenoblade X DE, but to be fair XCX you get a lot more story out of the of the game by doing affinity quests and even normal quests.

But the biggest point quests in ANY Xenoblade game is to get you explore more area, they make huge map for exactly that very reason.
