Grand Theft Auto Online: Official Gameplay Video, launches October 1st

^^

Haha this is EXACTLY what I was talking about. BADDADABUM BADDADBUM BADDADBUM BAT. Over and over again.

And then Radio Broker or whatever the rap station was always started the same too.. like a 45 second intro... the "beeeerr beeer beerrr brrmm.." west coast hip hop style.

LMAO I just read your post and I was like OMG that is exactly it! Drove me nuts...but yeah the music in Vice City was just top tier and then San Andreas was almost just as good, I didn't expect to be that disappointed with GTA 4's selection...but I was. :(

With everything else being as awesome and grand as it is for 5, I'm expecting the same to continue with the radio stations. They already have some good choices on the songs that we do know about.

Yeah, Vice City was easily the best. San Andreas really surprised me in that I found myself constantly on the country music station. I don't even really like country music, but that station was awesome. Real happy that it looks like there'll be another one in 5.

This looks pretty awesome.

How anyone could not be exited for next gen by seeing what Rockstar accomplished on 8year old hardware and 512mb of ram is beyond me. What they do with GTAVI will melt minds.

We've had discussions on the music in the GTA games Vice City and SA had the easy task of being able to choose from era defining bands and tracks. You could have chosen most tracks from that era and they would have been winners.

You would struggle to do the same thing with modern games that spread across genres despite that I think IV had a pretty decent track selection I will agree that it was annoying how the stations would 'reset' sometimes.

GTA4's music selection was a bit disappointing, especially as San Andreas and Vice City were both top drawer when it came to tunes. GTA5's music is the thing i'm really wanting to see now. Kavinsky's Nightdrive FM, christ I hope that's legit. Just picturing driving the back roads at night with 'Pacific Coast Highway' or 'Protovision' blaring out in the background.

So there won't be even basic Free Mode at launch?

That's dandy and all as I can beat the SP first, but it's still disappointing.

K DST and Radio Broker are the best Radio Stations in my humble opinion.

But yeah, bar Broker, Liberty Rock Radio & JNR. I was pretty disappointed in the IV selection.

Yesh. But granted, that's a design decision. Rockstar was always a sucker for low framerates regarding GTA.

Watch any trailer for GTA 4. Note the framerate.

Watch any trailer for Red Dead Redemption. Note the framerate.

Now, watch trailer (particularly the recent ones) for GTA V. Note the framerate.

Tell me what you notice.

Nothing. It'll be variable between 20 and 30 just like every other 3D open world game by Rockstar. If you hope for anything better, you'll be disapointed.

CVG said that there's just as many vehicles and it looks pretty much identical to what they saw for GTA5 SP. They didn't specifically mention pedestrians though. From the videos and of what we've seen, looks like no difference in the amount of NPC drivers on he road.

I don't recall seeing a single pedestrian (outside of say a heist mission in an interior) in the multiplayer gameplay video. Lotsa cars, but no pedestrians.

GTA4 was the first time I've been disappointed with music in GTA. There just wasn't much there for me. And in spite of each radio station having a massive playlist, the same 5 or 6 songs would play constantly and every once in awhile one of the others would sneak in.

I kind of enjoyed the sound track Black sabbath,Maiden,Smashing pumpkins,At the gates,Celtic frost,Entombed,Kreator, sepultura,Deicide,Bathory and Cannibal corpse the second best in mu honest opinion

Thought the same thing. Will definitely have to watch again.

I can't imagine that there wouldn't be pedestrians and that would go unmentioned especially by CVG videos.

*edit*

Very early in the vid you get your first pedestrian. You can see him better hwne it's moving.

Okay I feel better now, haha. Not a critical mass like we've seen in toher gameplay footage though.

keeping my ass away from that achievement thread..

Almost clicked myself but didn't! - Spoilers guaranteed.

Just let me tell you this, the achievements, if it wasn't obvious already, confirm that there will be lots of stuff to do outside main missions and that the game is geared more towards SA and VC in terms of seriousness.

Really? Like they just added them? Wow.

I imagine that the music, radio dialogue and television shows are some of the last things that go in. They are hardly core to the game, and if they don't happen, too bad.

It probably allows them to stay relevant. Social commentary written 5 years ago, when the game started development, wouldn't be so relevant now. And GTA media is 90% social commentary.

Just like The Last of Us =(

Lmao, yeah ok keep telling yourself that. I played through the whole game twice and thought it was perfect, guess it suited the pace of the game and seemed completely stable to me. Even though I have a pc and game on it I'm really not as fussy about framerate as you guys.

I was pretty sure that comment was sarcastic.

I know...in fact I think it was the reggae station that would always start at the same spot when you switch to it...it drove me crazy...I used to be able to repeat it per verbatim...I think I will fire up the game just to have those nightmares again

You two are lucky people. Those songs are from my bloody country and are pretty much listened by EVERYONE (okay, only most). It's horrible!

WWWIHWIH IT BEGAN ON THE STREETS OF SOUTH BOHAN

Might've been posted but I'm betting that concerts are part of the game like that rumour awhile back suggested.

There's concert posters, guitars, and "the range band" thing.
Seems a little pointless to buildout a set like this unless there's some interactivity. Maybe it's just better set dressing for a cut scene.

Also this is a relatively obvious callback to "A Home In The Hills" but it shows how far we've come...

San Andreas

GTA V/Online

Other Tidbits:
- Los Santos' basketball team is called the Panic. (1:35).
- Logger beer has returned. "The Beer That Brought the Forest Down" (1:02).

I know gta4s music was nothing special especially compared to vice city but when you were rolling across a bridge at 4 stars in the middle of the night and schweine comes on? That game is magic... beats seem to hit with the action like at every fuckin step.

I'm looking forward to having that all over again... plus
spaceships and jet packs.

Looks like the game of the games.
Never thought I could get so hyped for a GTA or a current gen game, but this looks incredible
