It’s finally happening!

The new iteration of the series hails from original series creator Linwood Boomer, with original stars Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek set to reprise their roles. Disney Branded Television has ordered four new episodes of the beloved sitcom. A premiere date has yet to be set.
Per the official logline, “Malcolm (Muniz) and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”

there has to be a new sibling too, Lois was pregnant again in the final episode Jamie also would now be 18 years old or something, with the new baby from the last episode now being around 15~16 right?

they need to drastically change the concept for these new episodes, because the original format wouldn't even remotely work.

When was the last time Muniz acted? Has he gotten back into the game recently?

I liked MitM at the time, not sure about this one.

Muniz actually was in some movies and tv shows here and there throughout the years. but he also does Motorsport now, so his acting career was basically just a side thing for him.

Two jokes I will never forget from Malcolm in the Middle...

The dad and his kids buy some illegal firework, set it off at night, and they flip the scene to a daytime shot for like 3 full seconds to illustrate how bright and powerful it was.

Then Malcolm shares a popsicle with Reese and Reese gets suspicious ("Why did you give me the bigger one?") because he doesn't understand how things appear bigger based on perspective.

That show had some great bits.

Wasn't Malcolm supposed to become the president or something? I remember one episode bringing that up.

Yeah, not sure this show really needed a revival or anything. I thought it ended pretty well.

Also, is it only going to be three returning actors?

The show is full of great and memorable gags. One of my favorites is:

Netflix buttfucked The 70s Show Indiana Jones in South Park style now it's Disney's time to humiliate another classic

The first season is the highest rated one and it's fucking awful
Weird. Maybe many were happy that it existed despite the lacking comedic timing and unfunny writing for new cast? All I can say is that I enjoyed season 3 more than the later seasons of That 70s Show. It finally felt like the new cast grew into their roles.

I would usually pan this kind of idea, but that series was never a traditional sitcom in its day. It could work as a modern show fairly well.

But Malcolm never had a sister... There was even one episode in which Lois imagined what life would be like if the boys were instead girls.

Yes they did, in the season finale, as per Deadline:
And Vaughan Murrae has been cast as Malcolm’s youngest sibling, Kelly whose existence was revealed in the series finale when the boys’ mom, Lois (Kaczmarek), is seen holding a positive pregnancy test.

However, this is concerning:
Kelly, who, along with Murrae, is non-binary, is described as self-sufficient, gets good grades and is already wiser than most of the family.

Sounds like a girlboss character, which is a no go for me.

You’d think a boy that thinks it’s a girl could come off pretty bad in the context of the family only having boys and Lois being desperate for a girl.
