Palworld in comparison seems like an original work

Simps for Amouranth

Lol blatant rip off wouldn't be in it, surely this is an open shut case of copyright infringement, everything about it screams Horizon, the colour pallette, robo animals and hunter gatherer humans.. ffs

Little trade secret: when a big company like DeWalt, Milwaukee or Makita uses China factories to build their tools these companies uses the molds they create to build cheaper copies for local companies that later are sold overseas (the ones sold everywhere from Temu to Amazon Basics). If that happens in hardware it will eventually happen in software where companies that were contracted to build (for example) games eventually resell or reuse the models, scenarios and maybe even engines to build their own games (or to "license" them to third parties).

This is very interesting.

It made me think about this link about preservation and the risks with outsourcing you pointed.

This is embarrassing. Its one thing to take inspiration from titles/IPs but this is beyond a blatant ripoff. Like if someone just showed me these screens without any information, I would 100% think it's Horizon.

Of course, I don't understand everything, but this is already some kind of overkill, well, they could at least change the color of the robots for decency, so that it doesn't immediately catch the eye. This is some kind of peak plagiarism, although of course if they only made game for China, then no one will do anything to them, if they go beyond China, I think Sony will punish them immediately.

Games have been copying other games since forever. Horizon now has a patent on robots in post apocalyptic future?
If the game is good, thats all that matters.

Aloy is a Game of Thrones knockoff and the game is best of Ubisoft. But come on, if the picture would have said Horizon 3 teaser i totally would have beleived it. Everybody copies, but the combination is what matters and this is more than obvious.

I should go back to Horizon 2. It got dropped like a hot potato when Elden Ring released and I never went back to it.
Like I don’t remember a thing about that game other than getting to the first Trex fight and cheesing the shit out of it by going in and out of the water.

Now this is competition. I have no problem with clones as long as they are interesting. I have played too many Diablo clones and they all suck except for Poe. Now Diablo (4) no longer has that addictive loop.

Note by sucking; I am talking about the loop. The clones start off good but either become too long ( scared/grim dawn) or start going into another direction.
