‘South Park’ Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone Sign New ViacomCBS Deal, 14 Movies Planned For Paramount+​

The films, spawned from the series, will premiere exclusively on the streamer.

Oh, my God! They… are going to release 14 new South Park films!

MTV Entertainment Studios has inked South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to a new deal that will run through 2027, including 14 new movies made exclusively for Paramount+, beginning with two this year. It will also see the flagship South Park series renewed through season 30 (2022 will see the show launch its 25th season).

According to entertainment chief Chris McCarthy, the company is also working with Parker and Stone on new original content. “Franchising marquee content like South Park and developing new IP with tremendous talent like Matt and Trey, is at the heart of our strategy to continue growing Paramount+,” McCarthy said in a statement.

The news broke Thursday morning as ViacomCBS released its second-quarter earnings report.

The new films will premiere exclusively on Paramount+, a move that may vex some fans because the entire Comedy Central show’s library is on HBO Max, as is the 1999 film, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. The new movies appear to be a way to get South Park programming on ViacomCBS’ own streaming service after cutting the HBO Max deal in 2019.

For the most part, the long-running cartoon created by Parker and Stone has been on hiatus due to the pandemic, but the duo did manage to create a pair of hourlong specials during that time.

“Comedy Central has been our home for 25 years and we’re really happy that they’ve made a commitment to us for the next 75 years,” said Parker and Stone in a statement. “When we came to ViacomCBS with a different way to produce the show during the pandemic, Chris (McCarthy), Nina (Diaz), Keyes (Hill-Edgar) and Tanya (Giles) were immediately supportive and enabled us to try something new that turned out to be really well received. We can’t wait to get back to doing traditional South Park episodes but now we can also try out new formats. It’s great to have partners who will always take a chance with us.”

Parker and Stone also recently made headlines for they announced they were trying to buy Casa Bonita, the Lakewood, Colorado restaurant that was featured on their show in a classic episode. “We are absolutely trying to buy it,” Parker said. “We are going to do everything we can. We want to make it right and make it amazing.”

South Park premiered on Comedy Central on Aug. 13, 1997.

The number of movies that can exist is infinite yet finite.

An uncompressed 4 hour 4k HDR film say at most takes lets estimate 1~TB(not sure if accurate, do know uncompressed takes a bit more.). But the number of states that a 1~TB binary sequence can take is finite. That means while vast the number of 4 hour 4k HDR films is finite too. Any longer film will merely be portions of this finite set sticked together. Say any 8 hour film is already contained within the 4 Hour set, it is merely two of the films in the 4 hour set stitched together.

Thus we can have infinite numbering, but finite images and sounds, finite number of stories, vast yet finite. As the perfect lifeform in nier stated, that is the nature of the infinite infinite repetition of the finite. And it is not excessive if you don't want it to be, for some it is excess, for others it is not. What to some is a lot to others is little.

The last episodes were already 45 min long.
So my guess is a "Movie" can essentially just be a long 90 minutes chapter.

These past few seasons they've also been doing these bigger season long storylines. So maybe the movies would be a good chance to go back to more standalone stories.

sorry but the old get wife have 1 or 2 kids in crappy antiquated house(even mansions of 100M look primitive and lacking), visit family and grow old and die is not something I like. That's for you people to seek. I do not like that and have never liked that, and have found it quite lacking from early childhood. How people could be satisfied with such limited human lives, it never ceased to surprise me, the lack of imagination the lack of ambition.

But us transhumanist seek this world changed, changed beyond recognition. You may not want freedom, but us who seek freedom want freedom for all. Freedom of expression, Freedom of sensation. I want a pizza hut pizza? I shouldn't have to go to a restaurant, the pizza should appear along with a table in front of me warm and perfectly cooked instantly. I see something I desire to touch or have it? It is mine to touch mine to experience instantly.

Ok, I've read a few of your posts, and I have to ask, are you schizophrenic? That's a genuine question. And I want you to know, I'm not making fun of you if you are, I promise. I would never belittle someone for struggling with mental illness. But if you do, you should make sure you get help. Go to a good therapist, get some medication if you have to, hang out with friends who love and support you, etc.

My mind transcends human description, some have said I'm schizophrenic. But you could go down the whole list of mental diseases and many would likely apply. From autism, to automatic obedience, to catatonia. You will find it is difficult to describe something that is not bound by the parameters of human mind design. My mind is alien in nature, which is why I can see the logic of human relations, of human behavior, mere machines mere puppets, dolls made of meat.

Ephemeral constructs puppets of genes and culture. For decades I have studied the human mind, for if I unravel it and write it down, these words can heal not one but the entire world. It is good many are also working on the same thing, people like me could be hit by a bus or meteorite tomorrow, unlikely but possible. The future must be, regardless of those who oppose it.

The documentary came out in 2011. So they were using a lot of computer assistance by that point. But I imagine it's probably even more streamlined now yeh.
