I really want to see everything on your top 10 list but True Grit, Black Swan, and Tron are the standouts for me. Plus, I had no idea Peter Weir had a new movie coming out.

I think you'll enjoy it. I saw it at the Cucalorus Film Festival here in Wilmington and everyone in the theater was talking about it afterwards; everyone enjoyed it. The main kid (dunno how to spell his name properly) is a huge badass.

Watching Black Swan again this week. Movie was fucking amazing.
Then - Tourist, Tron Legacy, True Grit and Blue Valentine in the next 4 weeks.

Also, watch The Illusionist people. It's better than ToB in my opinion.
Finally, as a huge Inarritu fan - Biutiful didn't do too much for me. Although, Bardem is fantastic.

Most of the list is gonna end up limited, and won't play anywhere near here.

Definitely will see True Grit. Will likely see Tron Legacy and Narnia. Might end up seeing The Warrior's Way :lol

Really disappointed that 127 Hours isn't playing here.

In what alternate reality is Sofia Coppola anywhere close to being in the same league as Weir, Aronofsky and the Coen brothers? Or maybe you were making a joke and I didn't get it... IMO the next most talented filmmaker from this list is probably Mike Leigh.

It was pretty brutal, but I loved it. There are some funny moments in it. I've heard Blue Valentine is similar.

Heh, understandable. Personally, I love being put through the wringer by a film, especially ones dealing with grief. I've heard some excellent things about it, and I'm also a fan of Mitchell and Kidman.

also, "Night Catches Us (Tanya Hamilton; Dec. 3rd)" is good, but sometimes a little slow for my taste.. Anthony Mackie is awesome in it though.

I saw I Love You Philip Morris on the plane ride back from Paris in July and really enjoyed it. It was very funny and it gets surprisingly twisted (if you don't anything about the real story anyway).

It's wonderful, but The Illusionist looks even better.
I've little doubt it will top The Tourist, Tron Legacy...hell, probably most of the 'see' list.

Dude, even if you haven't seen Belleville, The Illusionist is based on a fucking unproduced Jacques Tati script. That factor alone puts it on the must-see list.

Good to see consistent reports of Nicole Kidman delivering an Oscar-caliber performance... apart from Birth and Dogville, she's been out of the count making shit for so long, and I think Margot at the Wedding made her see the light.

I expect Tron to be so bad it's good.

Sad to see Narnia not on your list. I can't wait for Dawn Treader. One of the greatest fantasy novels ever, and coming off two films that have been really good adaptations. Wardrobe was great. Prince Caspian... well, Prince Caspian was a good try at adapting a book that wasn't very good, and didn't have nearly enough material for a movie.

Hope it does well, would like to see more.
