When Illinois was good, my rules were:

* root for all the B1G teams in the first round so the conference doesn't look bad
* except Indiana and Iowa, because fuck 'em
* once you're in the S16, gtfo
* unless we're way better than you and still in the tourney, in which case you're not going to win anyway so feel free to live it up (this only happened twice, but it was fun)

I can't decide if ND or Miami is becoming the new Maryland to me. ND just doesn't deserve the record they have against us and its been a benefit of timing more than anything else. Miami's team is chock full of pompous assholes.

As far as the ACC goes, everyone in the conference (and country) hates Duke so fuck 'em all, I'm not rooting for them. In the NCAA tourney I'll root for the team that is either going to give UNC (and sometimes UK, though I don't hate them) an embarrassing loss or the one that is most interesting (and doesn't have some irrational ax to grind vs my team). That 2008 Final Four game between KU and UNC is my all time favorite non Duke beatdown of UNC ever. Granted, it probably helped spark the 09 run, but still....it was worth it.

Out of the league? Props to UNC winning a well deserved game but...

UVA only lost by 4 after not scoring for 8 minutes. Six McDonald All Americans on UNC versus none for UVA and it was a close game with UVA shooting horribly. It's not even like they got bad looks. They got plenty of open looks that they just completely missed. It was UVA's game to lose and they lost it. I do like UVA because they can play against perception and they always play till the very end. I can't wait to see what Bennett does with the All Americans he gets next year. He's great at turning good players into great players and next year's recruits can shoot. UVA's greatness is here to stay, and I think they'll only get better.

At least UNC played ND and got some good rest though. Now it's UVA's time to rest for the NCAA.

It was, in reality, a great game by both teams. UVA just had their worst shooting percentage all season in the end, and that sloppiness cost them the game. Both teams could win it all.

It's a beautiful thing. I've always been critical of Roy's teams for their lack of D and toughness.

I'm still not sold on them yet. They certainly have the pieces to do it but I still think they have a weakness with guard play and overall perimeter defense. I don't know if they've played a team thats really challenged them in that way. Still, they made a good run through the ACC tourney, but so did Duke in 06.

I'm not worried about Duke getting bounced 1st weekend. Next season isn't very far away.

We're somehow going to be a top 16 seed and we're ranked #1 on KenPom for offense all because of Murray and Ulis.

It's a shame this is the worst group of interior players Calipari's had at UK. Like by far the worst. Nerlens Noel alone on the NIT team was a million times better than all the bigs combined this year.
