On that list Doom is without a doubt my most anticipated, after that it gets murky with a few titles

  1. GTA VI: 'Cause of course it is

  3. Judas: Ken Levine. Enough said.

GTA & Judas, top 2.

Don't know what's going on with Silksong, but surely it can't miss a whole other year?

Doom also looks sweet. Expedition 33 looks intriguing. And it feels like a new Mario is plausible... so those are my honorable mentions.

Ghost of Yotei, don't even know if that's supposed to be 2025? And Fable is exciting, but I don't expect that next year. But those also look good.

Borderlands 4 but something like destiny 2 with lifetime support, what they did sounds right and they shouldn't be the only one.

Can’t Git Gud
Death Stranding
Monster hunter
Casual auto 6 (not reallly feeling this one, it's too popular)
MGS remake

I’m hoping/guessing Switch 2 launching means 2025 has at least 2-3 Nintendo games that aren’t announced yet. I’d love a new 3D Mario…

As far as what we know is coming out:

GTA VI
Xenoblade X Remaster
Metroid Prime 4
Monster Hunter Wilds
Death Stranding 2

Only game I am interested in is GTA VI and I’m still not convinced it’ll actually release next year. The game is meant to be <1 year away and we’ve only had a single trailer? That shit is most likely a 2026 title.

ShirAhava

Plays with kids toys, in the adult gaming world
Dynasty Warriors and Lunar remake.....thats it

MGS D not being FOX ENGINE was a real bummer ....I'll give it a shot but not really hyped anymore FE was perfection

I spent the $30 on Path of Exile 2 yesterday after reading through the details. Ready to dive in over the Christmas break.

I'm curious about Doom: The Dark Ages if it will be a compromise between Doom and Quake looking at the design of the game?

What time is it?
GOTY 2025 will be Pathologic 3.

My goal is to purchase 12 or fewer games which will be tough. Here is my wish list so far so I only have 1 spot open. And with the new Switch coming, a launch title will consume that spot and probably destroy my goal.

Pathologic 3
Capcom Fighting Collection 2
Suikoden 1-2 HD
Lunar 1-2 HD
DQ 1-2 HD Remake
MonHun
Pirate Yakuza
MGS Delta
GTA6
Pizza Tower (Switch Physical)
Street Fighter 6 - Character Pass 2

edit: Forgot about Death Stranding 2 so my goal is already demolished. lol

GTA 6 and Death Stranding 2 as well as the MGS Remake are the games I'm most interested in from that list, especially since I never played a MGS before. But of course it goes beyond just these 3 with Doom, Fable, AC Shadows, Ghost of Yotei and probably some more stuff that I'm forgetting right now. There's also the rumored Persona 6 but I'm not 100 % sure about it happening in 2025. It'll be a great year.

No particular order
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance II
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
  • Mafia: The Old Country
  • Gothic Remake
  • Yes Your Grace: Snowfall
  • Professor Layton: New World of Steam
  • Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
  • DOOM: The Dark Ages

1. GTA 6 is my most anticipated this generation.
2.& 3. If Naughty Dog or Silksong get a release date for 2025 then that would be 2 and 3. If not it would be Ghost of Yōtei and Judas.

2025 will definitely be a better year. If even one or two games on there delivers then it trumps 2024.

Without GTA 6 on PC it's definitely Civilization 7 by far
And if RE9 is real for next year then top 3, along with the new Commandos game as I highly doubt it will still drop this year
With that said most likely I'll also enjoy the new DOOM game but not that hyped

Doom and DS2 are solid insta buy for me.

Expedition 33 is on my watchlist, but I'll wait for user reviews first.
GTA6 will have to wait for a PC version in 2026. And by then we'll know if it got ruined by DEI or not.

The Switch 2 will come with a new Mario and quite a few more games with it. I'll likely cave-in and get one.

Also hopefully we'll get a few good indie surprises to spice all this up.

I'm still trying to fight and claw through my 2024 JRPG abundance, I don't have time to think about 2025 yet. Also I hope GTA6 is only 6 months console exclusive. I want to play it, but I am not double dipping, so I'll just wait for PC.

For me, the only other game on that list that I'm going to 100% buy is MH Wilds. So for now, the year is just meh, but I have so much to play still.

From that list, I voted Doom. Really have enjoyed the 2 latest ones (and the classics of course), and this one looks really good.

GTA6, as its console exclusive for now, I'm not really fused. I am a lot more curious how it turns out and what it is rather than dying to play it. Of course, that could change after seeing it being played, etc

Other games I'm really looking forward to are the likes of Mafia, Slay the Spire 2, Ghost of Yoeti (though if it gets a PC release it'll be 2026 probably), Broken Sword (think that's next year), maybe 1 of the new Silent Hill games, probably Resident Evil.

Actually, it feels like there is a whole bunch next year now that I've read through these replies.

Metal gear, GTA and probably death stranding are the must gets for me. Although if gta and DS2 are released in the same quarter I’ll probably leave DS2 until the following year as I’ve only played through the first one this year.

As for the rest, I’ll probably give the gamepass games a go if released before July when my sub expires.
