Neither side of game devs have to worry because by law they need to include both options. Simple as. It's not even "oh, you're actually going along with this and putting in a based version? Fucking bigots!", because the based devs have to put in the DEI version too! You've got no choice, it's law, fuck you!

I just don't understand the DEI shit because i fail to understand why these game studios are catering to like 1% of people who want that type of bullshit in their games. Like these game developers are consistently sabotaging themselves by incorporating this stuff when the majority of their audience/market is screaming NO. Avowed literally killed itself out of the gate by giving the option of pronouns and having their art director go off on an unhinged rant which also sabotaged them and it just makes 0 sense.

Also, I just barely play new games these days because it bothers me to see these things pushed left and right.

The problem is that I would probably be annoyed to have some game with only white people, complaining about how bad other skin colored people are.

Jokes aside - this kind of customization is the inevitable end-state of like... 85% of popular AI research right now (yes it's a made up number - but really everything to do with image/video processing).

The issue that most have is dei in itself is racist and the ones pushing it, the activists, don't care or see it.

As a toxic white straight masculine male, I find dei atrocious for minorities because it's saying "you're not good enough talent wise, skill wise, to be hired.. You're only being hired because your skin color or orientation"... That's terrible, like I view minorities as people not skin color or gender or whatever. I want the best you got.

I want diversity in games that make sense, that's not much to ask. But the issue is dei is a push where activists are who make the money off it and it puts minorities in a bad position because they are in positions they don't belong in, fail and then when dei is the culprit they can just call everyone racists. Its beyond words absurd.

I want devs to tell the stories they want to tell not have someone basically as extortioners, saying do this or else.. It's fucked and it's shit.
