According to eXtas1s, Microsoft has either 'paused' or 'slowed down' bringing its games to PS5.

Reminds me of Jez Corden and his damage control tweet. MS is definitely bringing more games to PS5. We will know what games they are in time. I’m not listening to any of these rumors and I’ll see the games whenever they get announced

Why is this fake, exactly? Game is coming out soon on Xbox and it’s totally plausible that it did fail certification but they put it on the back burner to get the other ones out and are just finishing it now.

It was people like Jez who implied that there was a secret Sony deal to make it exclusive.

I didn't say it was fake. I was confirming this was the guy Mr Moose Mr Moose was talking about.

"At Gamescom, I spoke to Xbox insiders and developers who informed me about a technical issue affecting the launch of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox consoles."
So he happened to go to Gamescom, spoke to random devs and insiders and they said it wasn't on Xbox because of memory leaks? He's full of shit. Were Wukong devs at Gamescom? Why would they tell a random person anything?

eXtas1s claims that Microsoft has "paused" or "slowed down" the release of its games on PS5 due to fan reactions to Indy’s simultaneous announcement.
I call this 100% bullshit.

Expect to see all past and future ABK, Zenimax and Xbox Studios current gen games on PS5, in some cases day one and in some cases after some timed console exclusivity.

Expect also to see MS porting even the previous gen games that have some potential to sell on PS, as would be the Halo Masterchief Collection.

MS knows what games sell on Xbox and on PS, and also the budgets of their own games. To keep them full console exclusive only means massive loses, something they'll avoid by making the games multiplatform even if a few angry fanboys complain about it on Twitter.

Xbox : What will make you buy are games?
Player : not releasing on ps5 so soon.
Xbox : So if we increase the time it takes to come to ps5 will you buy it?
Player : Well 'buy' is such a strong word. I'll rent it for a months sub via gamepass and pay around a third of the price PS5 players would give you for it.
Xbox : DEAL!!
Even if it's true, I don't believe there's another chance for this mess to happen again.

Yesterday I was told all their games from Gears to Halo were going to PlayStation, now today it's all paused?

Maybe we should stop listening to know nothing twats and the bollocks they say, no matter which side of the console war they are pandering to.
I trust extas1s more in this matter than some no name leakers. No more MS games on PS I guess.

Well it’s apparently coming to Xbox soon so obviously it wasn’t the secret deal that Jez implied and a technical issue is more likely. Not saying this to defend this guy.

Take a guess, folks: what would Microsoft care more about?
  • Negative reactions from a select group among their console userbase whom Microsoft clearly doesn't care about, OR
  • Millions of $$ in pure incremental profits that they're getting by selling their games on PlayStation.
Pick one. And you've your answer.
I think they care about the ability to sell a new Xbox system in the future. A full multiplatform strategy will make it a definite bomb. I don't think they know exactly what they want to do yet which is why everything Xbox leadership does is so wishy washy.

That is not what he said though
Yeah, no more games is an over reaction on my part. I hope that MS understands that this drip feed strategy is only going to piss off people. If they want to go 3rd party and I do not know what the hell their leadership wants, it might be for the best to rip that band aid off and make the strategy clear to fans and their own employees. If not, then again just clarify their position so that more people can buy into their ecosystem for the exclusives.

Microsoft is a big company. Just because he has an in on the teams planning the Gamepass schedule doesn't mean those sources know what the C-suite is doing on strategic planning.

Microsoft should simply make a decision and then communicate it quickly and painlessly. This beating around the bush is of no use to anyone.

Why would anyone make the choice to buy an Xbox in fall 2024? They are just completely 2 headed on messaging , output and direction and it’s a damn shame… because the Series X is such a great piece of hardware. Wasted.

They should tell us today that in Fall 2025 they’re releasing a new console and cutting off Series S support. Keep X as the new S. Finish whatever is in development now and release it as equal or better than PS5 Pro. Update existing Series X consoles with a fresh UI. Develop or buy some exclusivity and fight a real console war with quality exclusive content. If they aren’t willing to spend the $$$$ and do that then GTFO. The writing is on the wall.

That's not terrific news for those who have been spamming "Xbox is dead" and "PS5 release day and date" this entire year.
It’s not terrific news for Xbox games, since they have trouble selling as is.

On the flip side, this is a rumor like everything else, so why do you give this one more credit than the ones that contradict it?

M Moriarty1889 Because Sony’s games don’t have issues being bought.

Guys, multiple people who are extremely credible have already told us what is going on and everything Xbox has been doing has suggested what they said is true.
MS themselves have already said it. Multiple times. The goal is to be the largest third party publisher.

what were the latest 4 MS's gaming releases?

Ara
Shattered expectations
Hellblade2
Forza

Right?...

... I don't think all of those games combined made 1 Billion in revenue. and i don't think none of those made a profit either.

This damage control is going to be used by the Xbox army for what, a couple of months of hope and happiness? Meanwhile, Phil Spencer's red line keeps getting higher with each flop release.

this is Phil after CoD fails to save Game Pass and Xbox:

Much less credible rumours posted here this week about Xbox were treated as gospel by many posters.

It's now almost 9 months since the Xbox "business update" podcast and we're no closer to seeing tentpole Xbox franchises receiving PS5 ports. That frog was being boiled so slowly he hopped out of the pot and is now being warmly comforted by Phil.

They don't believe Phil now? He said at the business update thing that there will be less exclusives over time. Which is a softer way of saying we're transitioning to multiplatform. People really need to learn how to listen!

Xbox: the clown company
It is not MS PR releases, yesterday was one from lowest/least trusted Reddit leakers and todays one is from guy that make up stuff and hope that some of his shit will stick. Truth is no one knows for sure how MS strategy looks at the moment.

Using "eXtas1s" as the source LOL.
Maybe it is good idea to assign rating to leakers based on how many of their leaks actually come to realisation, just like Reddit does, this would allow everyone to know how trustworthy is the source.

You mean the business update that said "it's not Indiana Jones" then it was Indiana Jones coming to PS5?

In other words, you trust this rumor because it puts Xbox in a better light than all of those other "bad" rumors that confirm what Microsoft told you — that their games are coming to other platforms.

A lot of you Xbox guys said no Xbox games would come to PlayStation. Then they announced four. Then they announced Indy. No matter how much fun you find listening to podcasts in LaLa Land, it won't change where things are obviously headed.

we have two scenarios:

1. this dude wake up one day and said: I will make this shit up just for the lulz

2.Someone inside MS talk to this person

Unfortunately for MS, they have a tendency to use "insiders" to do spin/Damage Control.... and usually backfires

Not a tentpole Xbox franchise. And still a timed exclusive iirc?

No, it fits with their plans to release new hardware. I know it must be frustrating for some to see that Microsoft are still holding the line, but that does appear to be the case.

A sound business decision to give some extra life to a few non tentpole titles that had already been out on Xbox for quite a while. And those games were gratefully embraced by the PlayStation community.

Leadership just seem so reactionary over at Xbox. Lots of flip flopping too. Just release everything on PlayStation if it continues to subsidise gamepass.

There is the possibility a lot of gamers thinking will be to hold off purchasing future Xbox hardware and wait for the games to release on PlayStation 5/6 along with PC and depending on the game, Nintendos next system.
The same applies to PS, tho. Because they’re training PS owners that all you need to do is wait 1-2 years and they will port all of their games to PC.

Sound business decision because their games aren't selling. What's going to change by not putting those games on other platforms? What's the roadmap of ideas that are going to fix the mess?

In last 24h we have 2 contradicting leaks, so who knows what’s going on.

it my as well be some fanboy reacting on another fanboy made up stuff.

not even MS know it.
I think they shifted the whole focus to the next generation, and left this one to play out by itself. So it is quite possible that they don’t have strategy for Xbox series anymore - except, release whatever we announced whenever it is done and be done with this gen.

Same reason PS is porting all their games to PC? Same reason they are porting the new Horizon Lego's to Switch? The same reason they bought Bungie and will continue to port their games to Xbox? They all want more revenue? Just a guess.

Sound business decision because their games aren't selling.

Their game content revenue from Game Pass is 10-15% according to Phil. The other 85-90% of Xbox gamers are buying games.

Except that it isn't the same reason, because Sony ports their games long after they've done what they could on PlayStation, and 9/10, that means the game was a success. And to PC, not another console platform. So, no.

As for Xbox gamers buying games, nothing would be coming to PlayStation if the Xbox/PC setup was sustaining itself. Obviously, something is falling short of expectations.

If it was the same they would be porting their games to the Xbox console and Nintendo.

“When everyone plays we all win “

Ok fine, let’s see Nintendo and Sony put a portion of their catalog on the Series X/S. As a Xbox fan I’ll be up for that.
