I don't buy mold being the center again. We literally destroyed the original megamycete in RE8. It's the source of all mold. Mother Miranda was THE megamycete scientist/villain. She found it, grew it, studied it, created a religion around it, and passed knowledge to Spencer.

Both her and the fungus got wiped by Ethan. There is literally nothing else to say about the mold. It's wrapped.

It sounds almost villainous, but tbh it'd be a bit hypocritical of Jill to be 100% against it like Chris. She's borderline a BOW herself. She doesn't even age anymore. I wouldn't mind some inter-protagonist drama there.

I thought RE8 played like a sad bargain bin compilation of RE4 scenarios at best. Then they shoehorned in various other trash like the walking sim spooky house to double down on the uninspired greatest hits/sell the most feel. This is a game I do not get the praise for whatsoever. The ending especially is dogshit even for RE standards of weak ending sections.

The fact that they so poorly ripped off the village opening even was baffling.

Can't they just replicate RE2 remake ? Not a fan of the RE4 direction with zombies blazing guns. It's just a shooter, not a survival horror.

The environments don't look appealing either. Can't say I'm excited.

I'll welcome RE9 no matter how the story is. I prefer 3rd person and more horror theme but I'll be fine if it turns out to be more actiony like RE4 Remake or 1st person too. Don't mind what version of Jill they're using as I liked all the Jill versions. I do hope there's a bunch of non linear segments and with the first playthrough being long around 20 hours at least which was what it took me for RE4 Remake.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Megamycete is involved again. The one from RE8 looked like a giant Fetus so maybe there are more in the world with one of them being a adult form. I could be remembering it wrong but I thought the Ethan story is wrapped up part is only for Ethan himself.

I’m usually cycling a RE game once a month through out the year. All of this RE9 stuff sounds super specific like the village leaks so I believe all of it.

Leon and Jill is the dream game. Only other thing I’d love is a new Rebecca game.
