First time I've seen Numbers. That app is slick as hell, wouldn't expect any less. As soon as I finish my studies I will pony up for a complete personal set.

If I can count the times Ive wanted to pull my hair out with excel.. lets just sya, its more than a few thousand. Numbers seems to have some really innovative ideas about cell formatting etc, that can let you do some things without it being a complete pain in the ass. The multiple table thing is awesome. Once you start merging cells in excel, and wanting to combine multiple worksheets into one while retaining cell sizes and formatting, it becomes an absolute nightmare. Ive used excel enough to be familiar with all the options, have worked on hundreds of files, and the app is fundamentally flawed for certain applications and goals.

The new iMac makes the old one look like a toy. The old one in the picture is a 20" the new one is a 24". The 24" screen is huge and bright. Love it. Now I need to clean my desk off. :D

Hey, what's the difference in the overall height of your G5 vs new iMac?

I have a 20" G5 iMac (pre-iSight) and wouldn't mind the additional screen real estate of the 24", but I only have about 1"-2" of clearance above the top of my G5 on my desk (there's a hutch).

Drove to Charlotte for the 24" iMac, not there. Sucked. You can't even call ahead and make sure it's in stock because most of the people working are too lazy to check for you and will just say it's there.

Why not order online? Shipping is free.

Not to mention you can upgrade the hard drive if you order online, can't do that in the store. And on the 24" you can choose to go 2.8 GHz.

It's exactly 2". It would be a tight fit, but it should fit.

nice comparison pic!

I had a play about with Numbers today, really really impressed with it. I was doing stuff in about 5 minutes that took me 2 days to set up in Excel. I like the way you can organise your prints and have multiple tables. I....I....think I might purchase iWork!

Just have to give a big up to Fry's once again. Just bought a 1GB ram stick for my iMac for $25 after a $20 mail in rebate. Man I love Fry's.

I got to see the new iMac in person today.

OMG. <3

I was never a fan of the old iPod-inspired plastic iMac (though I liked the lampshade G4), but this new design is so gorgeous. Thinner, the black border around the screen gives it a very clean (hiding isight and infrared too I assume) look, with very iPhone-esque design. I hope teh new iPods follow this.

With all the rumours of a more square, shorter/squat nano, I wouldn't be surprised if it looked kinda like an iMac. That would be awesome.
