Asgard's Wrath 2 |OT| AAAA VR gaming

How long is AW1? I've been playing for well over 25 hours. For a VR game thats everything else VR I've played COMBINED.
I didn't track the time but I took probably around 80-100 hours (played for two hours daily over december/january) if not more, but that's with all the side missions, challenges, and generally being a slowass explorer.

Gane is truly a AAA hidden gem.

nope , never played the 1st one , its on PC?
if so does the PCVR make it look better?
It's one of the best looking VR games, period. It's on the PC Meta Store App, and depending on when you got AW2 you probably have the first one in your library already because they were bundling the two games together.

Really? I don't see it in my library, maybe because I'm in canada !?

For Quest 2 users it was a preorder bonus for those who purchased AW2. (This is how I got mine) Quest 3 users got AW2 for free and according to some Reddit posts, they also had AW1 in their library. Maybe you have to claim it first to add it to your library?

Every time this thread gets pushed again, I always misread the title as "Asura's Wrath 2" and get excited for a brief moment...

I don't know what's going on, but I started having degraded performance in this game. Is anyone experiencing the same?

Quest 2 user here. The game started running noticeably worse once I reached the Papyrus Swamp. Framerate during fights started sufferinng, and hitting enemies caused stutters every single time, very distracting. Went back to the first open area (The Great Sand Sea) and now it stutters there too, even with simple things like opening chests, grabbing items, using your followers, sometimes when I turn my head I can even see the black space that's normally not visible in-headset where the game is not rendering.

I tried several things like playing different games, cleaning internal storage space, deleting all of my playspaces, nothing has helped so far.

No. Is it in side quest or something?
It's on itch.io You have to enable dev mode on your headset, but you can crank fps or res way up on many games, in some situations both. Point is, devs aren't giving us what the Q3 is capable of, but Quest Optimizer allows us to make that happen.

Shadows under the scorpion are more pronounced and the sand texture is improved too

So now that the dust has settled. Do we agree this is a 10/10 game (ign)
I liked the first one more. It was less bloated and more linear, the combat felt less haphazard and the environments more varied. AW2 only wins in the QoL improvements department.

Yeah, I'm not expecting buy a lot of local software, I'm mainly going to be using the link cable with a PC. The 100G available should be fine. Asgard was like 32GB already, I do wonder how much the update will add to that.

From what I’ve seen, it’s not ground breaking changes, but noticeable texture upgrades. That, plus the Quest Optimizer will have this game looking crisp.
I checked it out last night and I could not tell a difference. Maybe things are sharper? It's the same graphics and textures. Nothing new that I could tell.
AW1 on PC still still 'richer' looking.

The upgrade is minimal but I can definitely tell on large textures like the desert plains.

The combat in this game is what i love. That first axe feels badass the way you throw it and can upgrade to flick your wrist in midair to change directions.

I jumped back into this game over the past couple of nights -- starting to enjoy it more and more. The scope of the world, the graphics on Q3, the combat... it's all clicking as I go a bit further.

It keeps getting better too. The world, combat, skill trees all sort of open up after 10 hours. Really took me a solid 15 hours to really understand all the mechanics etc but by then the game is just starting.

Spoiler if you're not very far into the game, but this Water Serpopard boss fight and temple was incredibly fun. The mobility and use of the whip sword felt great. Really reminded me of Zelda but with more visceral combat. Doesn't translate to videos that well, but in the headset the boss is massive and holding that shield in front of me felt convincing as the haptics activated.

Act III's playable character has some of the coolest weapons I've used in a game. Her eel sword can be thrown anywhere and it'll act as a turret or used as a grappling hook. If you latch onto enemies, it can poison them. She also has a squid that can be used as a turret. The bow is a shield too as you can see in the video below.

She's sort of squishy at first but becomes OP fast. I keep going back to her.

Wait until you get to Alvilda. I found her moveset to be the most diverse of the cast. And she has retractable Wolverine-like claws as a bonus.

Yes! She's awesome too. I'm doing a 2nd playthrough using Quest optimizer on my account + high resolution textures. I played through it months ago on my wife's.

I'm finding it extremely enjoyable going slower. Especially after Act III the world, character, and combat design are great. Bethesda should take notes here.

I've been using my Panther mount as a way to confuse enemies. I'll grapple to her when they charge and fire the bow then run them over lol. But i keep switching from mount/ranged/close quarters and constantly deploying her creatures as turrets. Don't think I used them much in the first playthrough.

As much as I love Batman, this game is a good reason to buy a quest too. Packed with content. Sony nor Xbox have anything exclusive like this either.

Yeah I'm in the same boat -- I stopped shortly after getting the cat mount.

Definitely looking forward to more, because it was just getting really interesting right about there -- but I don't have the time lately for long games.
