There was another light class video but Bethesda shut it down. Bastards! There's like one day till release, how about showing some gameplay footage and marketing your damn game?

What about VicGAF folk without an iPad? Can we fill out a survey or something?Gazunta said:OK let me reiterate...
BrisGAF folks with iPads: If you would like to come in for a focus test of a hot new game very soon, please PM me.
AUsGAF folk with iPads: If you would like to remotely focus test a hot new game very soon, please PM me.
Congrats! Childbirth sucks so make sure to thank your mum. Hopefully everyone will refrain from the usual jpegs.Rez said:I'm 20 today. One year closer to relevancy and/or death.
Effective privacy protections for our users means that any data that we dont need to collect, we shouldnt. We only need to know the country that youre making this purchase from, so although we originally planned to use geo-IP to determine users location, weve decided to trust our users and let them inform us as to the correct region for their purchase.

Yeah, but it's hard to justify. I just really, really like having shitloads of disposable income ATM. If I moved to Melbourne, I just wouldn't see myself saving anywhere near as much money (or having as much to spend).reptilescorpio said:Considering moving to Melbourne? Would give you a lot more time in your day. I hate that I waste an hour a day travelling to and from work. Just have to convince the other half that living in Waurn Ponds would be better than Lara.
Pretty much this. Though I love having 1TB a month (which is essentially unlimited) it really is impossible to keep using that much in a month. Shit, I managed to get the first four seasons of Futurama (save me having to rip them myself... AND they had the commentaries included!), first TWELVE of Top Gear, porn (90% of which I'd never "utilise" but 99% would still never delete... I'm a hoarder) and Steam/XBL stuff and still didn't fill it. I tried, too.Porn. Mostly just porn. After the first 2-3 months you have already downloaded all the random stuff you can think of. At that point it is only the odd new thing that pops up (like The League for instance).

Oh yes. Completely forgot about that one, too. Amazing. Put that in my top 4.

I've already pre-ordered TW2 but could this mean someone in Australia could get the $45 price by changing their country?[/QUOTE]
If that's happening right now, I'd guarantee that the Australian price thing was a catalyst. That reminds me, I'm sure I bought The Witcher in some Steam sale. Is it really so good that TW2 is getting such high praise before release?
PS. Happy Birthday, Rez!

The consumer wins!Shaneus said:Oh shit. I just went to GOG, it had that update about $26 credit. Went to my account, changed region to US and that notice disappeared from the preorder page.
GOG/CD Projekt Red are flaunting the rules like a motherfucker and I love it.
It is a one time thing where they are selling The Witcher 2 for their parent company. Maybe we wont get Namco Bandai games on GOG for a while. They may stop publishing future CD Projekt RED games. That is about it.Omi said:Good on GOG, but how long before the publishers start boycotting using their service?
evlcookie said:Even if we change our country, Isn't our CC going to give away the location? Won't we still be limited to the modified version?
Shouldn't happen. They don't regularly sell new releases. I doubt retailers care how much 15 year old games are being sold for.Omi said:Good on GOG, but how long before the publishers start boycotting using their service?
I know Steam/D2D cracks the shits if you try and buy a game using an Australian Paypal account, even when going through the IP spoofers/proxies so it's possible it could do that, but I don't think the guys at GOG are going to be that tricky.BanShunsaku said:I thought that myself, but I'm thinking that even if you order it with your account set to Australia, the link to download the game could potentially change depending on what your country is set to.
Or it might not even care if you have an account set to US but pay with Australian credit card. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the case knowing GOG.
Hopfully it means that there isn't enough time for Namco to crack the shits and threaten to pull the retail version. To be honest I don't think they will do anything since Steam is still full price and they would see Steam as a much bigger market for the game.Shaneus said:I just love that they did this right before TW2 comes out. Genius of them, actually.
I don't think it can be pulled. Would need to be pulled from all regions and seeing as CD Projekt are behind both GOG and The Witcher series it would make them look even worse.reptilescorpio said:Hopfully it means that there isn't enough time for Namco to crack the shits and threaten to pull the retail version. The summer windAlso I totally thought you were a new member, nice to see the Martin love!
Namco are doing distribution in West Europe while Atari do the US. CD Projekt are doing East Europe themselves. 1C are doing the Russian release. Also found this tidbit on wiki:Shaneus said:I don't think it can be pulled. Google search came up great. Import time!To market the game in Russia, 1C will be releasing a Witcher 2 real-life nude calender with copies of the game. The calender features Ukranian model Klodi Monsoon as Triss
What are your specs? Sounds like it scales down well and the main draw of the game is the story anyway.BanShunsaku said:This GOG talk has gotten me super pumped for TW2 again.
Been trying to keep my hype to a minimum as I know it is probably going to run terribly on my PC![]()

It had a good story and characters, the combat was fehish but this new one over hauls it and looks to make it super gooder.Shaneus said:I'll briefly ask again: What's the big draw with TW2? Was the first one really that good that people are near-blindly buying this one? Should I follow suit?
The first one has been cheap a bunch of times. Why not check it out?Shaneus said:I'll briefly ask again: What's the big draw with TW2? Was the first one really that good that people are near-blindly buying this one? Should I follow suit?
I think I actually have it at home. I haven't scheduled it for play in my backlog (yet).Fredescu said:The first one has been cheap a bunch of times. Why not check it out?
Should run okay on High. RPS ran the preview build on an i5 with a 250GTS on Ultra and got around 20-30 fps. I would expect the gold build to run better.BanShunsaku said:Core 2 Duo E6600, 5 gigs ram, GTX260
It isn't a horriblly outdated machine or anything but I'm a bit funny about wanting to set things on maximum. I hadn't read any impressions about how it runs, but that sounds promising. Fingers crossed!
It is a great RPG. Fantastic story with decisions that really mattered. I enjoyed the combat and it was a lot of fun. TW2 seems to improve EVERYTHING. Looks incredible, improved combat to be more fluid and enjoyable, the plot that has been hinted at seems really cool. Plus they always support the community really well, you can download the Polish voiceover day one if you want. Plus it is at a great price point considering how long the game will be, even better with 14 endings. You should buy it if you want to play a third person perspective action RPG that is focused on telling an engrossing story. Plus graphical showcase. Plus wash the taste of DA2 from your mouth.Shane said:What's the big draw with TW2? Was the first one really that good that people are near-blindly buying this one? Should I follow suit?

This is better than the time I made a cold milo, but reversed the proportions of milo and milk. A cup full of milo and a tablespoon or two of milk.
Yes, I will die before I am 30.
