Best Ace Attorney game?

3, easily.

2 is the worst in the series, that's redeemed by a great final case, and 4, while pretty good, does have some lame spots.
First post nails it. I haven't played Apollo Justice nor Investigations, so I can't comment on them. Justice for All isn't a bad game, but it's a big step down from the first one, though the last case may very well be the best one of the original trilogy.

I'd say play them in order, as Trials and Tribulations has several references to previous cases and characters, and you will enjoy it more if you knew them before.

If the second one is 75% meh, it immediately makes me not want to waste time with it. Maybe I'll check out a let's play of that last case that you all seem to love. :P
I'd say that last case is worth at least 50% of the value of the game, if not more. But yes, the other cases are mediocre. I can only remember part of the first case, and absolutely nothing from the rest, so that should tell you something.

I thought the 1st was the best by a pretty big margin. 1-5 is definitely the best case in the series, but I'd say 1-4 is second. Edgeworth and his whole story was much more interesting to me than Godot.

I also thought the choices you have to make in the 1st were more natural. I found a couple things you were forced to do in T&T really annoying (forced to make more dumb decisions when you as the player can already predict why it is dumb). And I didn't like the overall change in tone becoming more cartoonish and magical power based.

I thought the 1-5 case (I assume that's the new DS one, with Ema) was incredibly stupid, the way they keep convoluting it over and over. 3-4 is the best case, manly tears were shed.

3 > 1 > I > 2 > 4

Can't comment on I2 cause I haven't played it :'(

I rank 2 ahead of 4 simply because 2-4 is a better case then 4-1, the rest of the cases in both games are poor.

That's my list too. There are some who would say that AAI2 is the best of them all.

Trials and Tribulations handsomely takes that spot. Second-best is, IMO, the first one, because dat last case. The two Justices are sort of the black sheep of the franchise and I can't really decide which I like better or worse.

I am in the tiny minority that thought Ace Attorney 2 was the best in the series. Closely followed by 3, but in my opinion, it was Justice For All that really made you dig down, think, and reach to figure out how to proceed, which is the main reason I like the games.
AA1, AA4, and AAI all lead you around by the hand way too much for my liking, but I like the format of the franchise enough that I still thought they were okay.
