Bloodborne on pc now boots via emulator

This didn't age very well.
Five months later Bloodborne is close to perfect and general compatibility keeps increasing.

Just updated to version 6.0 (automatic update) and game runs much smoother now.

Great stuff, I'm using official build and before in some places it was ~50-60fps now it's 60fps locked (opening area with lots of enemies).

General compatibility continue to improve. Unicorn Overlord & Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm appear to be working perfectly.
Monster Hunter Stories boots and plays well without sound.
Progress moves fast when there's no Cell weirdness to contend with.

Is that with the base emulator, or It still needs lots of game specific tweaks?

ShadPS4 had a 0.7.0 update yesterday, which includes a lot of changes including FSR & HDR support. It's still too early to be of practical use, but development continues.

Saw this in a video by Brutal Sam, there's a picture of an alleged ShadPS4 build running DLAA.
Found one arabic twitter source posting the before and after images. It's a week too early for an April Fools' day joke.

If true and not prank, it's a gigaton development.

Tried it on Saturday. Runs very well on my 4070 Ti Super, but you need a few patches (provided by the emulator's servers) and a few mods from nexus to solve a few graphical issues. THAT SAID, you don't get native 4K without graphical glitches. So it's safe to play at 1080p. For now.

Really wanted to try it out, problem would be getting my copy to work on Windows, otherwise might just as well get a used PS5

If you have disc/digital version just download game from the internet. What's the problem? You already paid Sony and from software.

How is Bloodborne on the emulator?
I have 130+ hours on BB Emulator, doing all the main game minus the DLC and most of the time in the chalices. Random vertex explosions, but nothing too annoying. Random crashes, but I don't get very many. Longest session was about 14 hours without a single crash, as it can take many hours for one to occur.
I haven't even run mods with it, yet. I'm waiting for everything to get more stable than what it is now.
If I could use my PSN with this, it would be perfect. Running chalices offline is tedious but not boring, not to me.

I'm ready to see the next steps with this emulator at this point. And by that I mean more playable games.

The Bloodborne stuff is fantastic, but at this point it's really the only game that can actually be deemed playable on the emulator.

I tried to play Dragon's Crown Pro, but it seems to have a problem with the touchscreen. Kept getting error messages in the background. Game seemed to run well, though.

Need to add the entire PS4 library that I (legally) own to my Harddrives with my other (Legally) owned consoles games' library dumps.

There are much more playable. Just not the "bigger" games.

No? There's a total of 2 games that are considered "Playable" right now. In that you can play the game from start to finish with few issues.

There's another 43 that are considered "in-game", meaning you can kind of play them but not without major issues/crashing/inability to progress to the end of the game/etc..

That list is very inaccurate as Gravity Rush Remastered is already at "start to finish".

Hope they solve those issues, I'd love to play it on the big screen again (sold my copy and PS4 console some time ago)

Some major progress happening with this emulator. DOA Extreme 3 now boots but has missing graphics. Looking at the latest actions in the git it looks like they're trying to get PT to work so we should be able to play it soon.

No longer crashes in menus in ultrawide. This game's artwork really shines in high resolution. It reminds me of BOTW where the game looks magnificent at 4K.

Bro…even beyond 1080p and with the bb remaster mod… boy does this game really show its true potential. Sony are fucking idiots. By the time they do a proper release I will have already milked this feeling of second wind enjoyment and I will wait for it to be on sale. I'm getting good at staying away
from games on day 1. 🫡

What are the mods used to get the game stable?

Seconding this.

Gaiff Gaiff is there a guide you've used to get things running in the way that you have with stability?
I used this guide, but it was an older one.

I think the emulator got significantly better since then. Several things to know:

  • The game's performance scales poorly beyond 1080p. At 1440p, even my 4090 dips into the mid to high 50s in heavy areas with a lot of volumetric fog such as the sewers. In general though, it's 60fps
  • Cutscenes can be a bit wonky on camera cuts and may be unstable. If they crash, either skip them or play them at 30fps
  • I haven't watched this latest video, but if your game is prone to crashing, there is an Intel/AMD CPU stability fix on Nexus
  • You probably will experience a slight hitch when crossing invisible boundaries to enter new areas
I just played 3 hours nonstop, not a single crash. Killed Amelia and stopped. It's truly a blast at 60fps. The controls are so much more responsive and pulling off parries is so much easier. Hell, I'd argue it's become TOO easy because I feel I'm even sometimes late, but it's so responsive that I let a shot off before getting hit and still stun the enemy.

I have like 40+hours in the chalices.
I am using this awesome tool, since I cannot go online for the free ritual materials, lol;
If you like or wanted to do Chalices... I recommend this as a companion piece with ShadPS4. Just exit ShadPS4, edit your save file directly from the file location and it's pretty self explanatory. I highly recommend removing Chalices or having Gravestones Empty for when you create these via the Dungeon App.
I've covered most of what you can get in the Chalices over the course of a mere 14 hours. Compare that to the hundreds of hours it took, before Fextra or any other site had the complete information.
Also, this is another companion piece with regards to Information about Chalices:
Chalice Guides
Last session I had 12+ hours and no crashes, at all. I am not using the main file, though... the one offered on the official website.
I am using: Diegolix29/MainBB 63753B2
ShadPS4.^

Looks surprisingly good.

I'm still holding out 'hope' Sony will do the smart thing and remaster this game 4k60/120 for both the PS5 and PC. All their losses from Concord, Marathon and Fairgames will be recovered in a flash.

Finally got this working. Still trying to figure out if it's running at 720p like ShadPS4 says, or if I should trust the Ctrl+F10 in-game display that days it's running at 1080p upscale to 1440p. Regardless, it's running at 60fps pretty well locked.

Agree with the other guy saying the 60fps makes this game so much more readable. Managed to beat the Cleric Beast without dying once (noteworthy because I suck).
