Blood Echoes = souls.

Stats are much like Dark Souls, but skill = dexterity. Bloodtinge is a damage modifier for your gun, arcane is for item effectiveneness.

Gotcha. So I'm guessing Blood echoes=Starting level? The lower it is the cheaper it is levelling upfront?

I played for about 12 hours yesterday but I'm not 100% sure what that means as far as starting class goes, since level is a different attriubte listed right there, and all but Waste of Skin starts at 10.

I think it's just like "starting gold", basically, so you start with some echoes so you can buy some vials or bullets or a level or whatever. AKA not hugely important.
