Hope this sends a clear message to publishers what gamers want. Now this is a game worthy of being a current-gen must-play.

if you ignore smash, bayonetta 2 and smw3d, then yes.
Yeah, I ignored and own 2 of these 3 games. my question wasn't with N in mind. (there's no question about nintendo exclusivities quality when almost every WiiU title is an exclusive first party game)

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
This is such an awesome thing waking up to :D!

To presume reviews don't play even a small role towards pushing sequels is a little naive. Sales depend on how hard Sony pushes the game, it's on them. The reviews just make it easier for them to convince people it's worth playing. FROM did their job and Sony would be dumb not to support them again with a sequel.

So why again we need to wait for Friday here in UK/IE? The wait sucks :/
Glad the game scores well but now I can't wait to try it myself!

No.1 game on twitch.70,000+ viewers.

I hope this is good for coverage/sales.

Why would publishers look to reviews for that? Sales show what gamers want, plain and simple.
Implying everyone who buys a game also ends up thoroughly enjoying it. Sales show too many things to be boiled down to such simplicity. Sales can soar just because of manufactured hype and marketing for a product that isn't even good. Yes sales can show interest in the concept, but what people want is quality and for better or worse many of those sales numbers just happen to give the products the benefit of the doubt.

Didn't reviews + word of mouth sink The Order though?

Depends on the game, of course. Otherwise Wii U would be the best selling thing this generation, based on the reviews Nintendo's games have gotten.

I don't think From's works sell on reviews, but word of mouth from the players.

I was a bit cautious to even enter this thread, but I got goosebumps after reading the scores :D

So stoked for From Software. Now to hold on another 2 and a bit days until I get to sink my teeth in.

Fab scores to wake up to! Seems the negatives are ....sort of personal preferences on things rather than anything bad or immersion breaking. Hopefully the framerate issues are nothing too bad. Maybe a patch further down the line could improve a wee bit more. Still waiting for GameSeek to post, should be today or tomorrow.
