According to Miyazaki it was never planned as a Demons Souls sequel.

I never played a souls game either, and man I LOVE It. I got punished over and over and over, but it kept me coming back stronger and such a great sense of accomplishment as I'm starting to get hang of it and beating first few bosses. I got game early and been playing since Saturday. The first few hours were punishing as hell tho.

Probably smart considering how quick prices drop these days. I pump the brakes on anything I'm not 100% sold on already, and it usually ends up saving me $20-30 only a few weeks later.
Although Bloodborne plus a $20 PSN card for $65 is pretty good already

it changes everytime I am refreshing the site and it had like 35 reviews at 93, it still has only 35 reviews. strange.
Probably on the line between 92 and 93; it alternates every time I refresh the page.

It's technically a new IP, but in substance....ehh, it's debatable. Not that it really matters much.
I'm guessing they are uploading reviews they received throughout the night. It just jumped back to 93 with 38 reviews for me. I think the number of reviews will keep climbing to around 50-ish in the next couple of hours.
There's a Bloodborne preset already? Nice!

Having played both, yes they are as different as two medieval action RPGs could be. Demon's Souls has a totally different layout/dungeon/world. It's a hub world with multiple level choices (ala a super complex Megaman-esque thing) versus a linear RPG (Dark Souls)
I don't know, there's still that gamereactor sweden 7 that is going to get added, there are also lots of other reviews in the pipeline I'd guess. Hell, InFamous Second Son had 90 of them.
I think it's going to end up at 90.

Front page of Metacritic says 92 but the game page says 93.
Dark Souls is the same style post-Anor Londo (there is no order to the four lord souls) and is hardly linear before then, especially with the master key.

Hmm...kind of worried about the long load times between death and respawn. One of the reviews mention they take 1 minute...I thought Dark Souls' times were long enough already...
They're patching it, apparently. Maybe wait to buy until that gets released.

What is the situation with the IP for Dark Souls? Can From actually make a Dark Souls 3 without permission from Namco? Only reason I'm asking is because between Bloodborne being From and Sony's baby, and Dark Souls being From and Namco, Kadokawa don't seem like they're getting much from these projects. Is there a chance that From don't actually go back to Dark Souls at all after this purely due to Kadokawa not wanting to waste their purchase?
