..in Japan~ English releases would be later in the same year.

I never knew of this game til Sonic Racing Transformed, and while it's one of the harder stages to me, it has a neat theme.
Reading up about it on wikipedia, it sounds interesting, would be nice to have an HD release/port of it, preferably by the same team that ported the recent Model 2 games. Fighting Vipers looked really good for one.

Speaking of the theme, the one thing I could make out is "BURNING RANGERS ROCK!" or something like that...

Fuck yes. Happy birthday BR!

I learned about Burning Rangers last year, that stage in Transformed hyped me to finally get myself a US version.

Fun fact that I saw in a top comment in a youtube video of the english main theme.

There's these lyrics in the song.

''Sight Of Night I Cheer To Embrace A Magic''

Seriously, how can it get more fucking clever and mindblowing than this? :D

God damn, this song is so hype, the guy is singing his lungs out, one of the very occasional times where I think the US version wins over the JAP one.

I played this back in the day, and wasn't too keen on it. The Sega mags told me how good and unique it was and I felt I just didn't "get" it, which is a shame as there are plenty of Saturn games I did.

That said, I'd give it a second shot if an HD remake did come out.

I never actually played the damn game, but the JP theme song is burned into my brain thanks to PSO.

Great game!
Loved it too pieces back in the day, it was quite a short game, but hard.

Also using the Nights controller was the way to go.
Music was great too.
Man now I want to play it again.

Just a fantastic game that is really overdue an HD release. One of my biggest memories of the game is completing the Japanese version on a Saturn which had a faulty memory card, which meant I had to play through it in one sitting. Really glad that's the way I experienced it!

Also, time flies and dat soundtrack <3

I have thought this ever since PSO originally came out, and I will say this every opportunity I can:

There should be a Burning Rangers sequel (or remake for all I care) which is five-player co-op. Shou, Tillis, Lead Phoenix and Big Landman would be out in the field, like normal. And the last person would play Chris. Meaning you would have a blueprint of the entire level and navigate to each person where they have to go to accomplish the goals and avoid fires, etc. I really want a game like that!

Burning Rangers is one of my absolute favorite games from the Saturn era. Love the music, especially We Are Burning Rangers. I would listen to this song on repeat all day!

Loved this when I was younger. Got it for very cheap, too!

I really like this game's player mechanics, with the very Gunvalkyrie-style movement and all, and the presentation was really cool... But I don't think the stages really took things far enough. I don't know. I haven't played it in years, maybe I should bust it back out.

P1-4 on Wiimote/Nunchuk, P5 on the Gamepad. Get to it, Sega.

Never played it but very familiar with the game and its soundtrack - this game had some amazing music and I would love to see a HD re-release.

I believe the game had randomly generated maps so utilising a Wii U Gamepad screen for the map whilst navagating on the TV would be pretty cool.

Yeah, Burning Rangers is great, but I don't think it's aged very well these days. It did some fantastic things with random replayable levels thoughs, and map-less navigation.

A sequel could be amazing... but Sega won't do it. And Sonic Team shouldn't make it anyway.

This makes me feel so old :(. Amazing game, by the way... One of the last shining gems released by Sonic Team.

Naoto Ohshima, the director of the game. Also, the director/character designer for NiGHTS, and director of Sonic CD

Interesting, this is my first time seeing his art, but its really good, do you happen to know where I can find a collection of the art he's done for SEGA and any other titles?
