CDPR posts Switch 2 Cyberpunk screens

Probably going to be like Witcher 3 on Switch but a little better. Will still be impressive that it runs at all given the rumors about how old the Switch 2 hardware is.

I really don't understand why people in here are getting so shitty about the Switch 2. It looks like great hardware for what it is. I don't know what people were thinking Nintendo were going to release.
It looks like it's more capable then the Steam deck. And I bet Microsoft are a bit worried if they're planning on releasing a portable machine in the next few years. I think given the current climate, you'd be hard pressed to make a better machine for the money.

Funny though, as it's seems a lot of people have also been disappointment with the current gen of playstation and Xbox.
I couldn't agree with this post more, from top to bottom, than if I'd written it myself. I'll emphasize the Microsoft entering the handheld fray bit. If they haven't stolen a new form of batteries, then they're not going to be able to tout a superior screen that won't kill a battery in 10 minutes.

The big issue with Microsoft for a portable is AMD…

Seems fine for a new handheld. I wouldn't call it "great". Not without an OLED screen. The issue that I have with it, and others may as well, is unlike a Steam Deck, Switch is the only hardware that will play these games and so how it performs on larger screens is a question mark.

I don't think people really are grasping how much the Switch 2 is benefiting from the Switch's success anchoring things. We're nearly 5 years into the gen and most games are still cross gen especially the Asian segment.

That's exactly why

You think Switch 2 is "great hardware"? It's fine, but it's 8nm using a chip from 2022. It's not exactly cutting edge.

It's not much different from the Switch 1 - nobody is going to prefer playing these third party games UNLESS you enjoy the handheld experience (I don't). And even then, there will quickly be MUCH better handhelds in the market in a few months time. This is Nintendo. They are always behind.

Funny enough - who would those people be? There's nearly 80M more than happy playstation consumers that continue topping the charts every month.

Seems this is a complete fabrication in your mind.

I was waiting for your opinion on this case… We need an solid argument, put all your efforts please.

Are you a handheld gamer?

It'll get use from me on Nintendo exclusives and that's it
Sometimes. If there's a game on, my kids want to watch something, or I'm at the lake I'll play in handheld. Its useful to me when the need arises.

I've had a Steam Deck for over a year now which got the bulk of my handheld game time. Playing games at 60fps with good graphics is a treat. I look forward to a similar experience without all the neckbeard troubleshooting, such as cycling through proton versions and whatnot.

It's more than fine. Doesn't have to be top of the line to be great hardware. This thing will get a ton of use from me.
Funny thing is that's it's actually top of the line, literally the latest and most powerful Nvidia SoC, and AMD doesn't even have something like that

Yeah, it's a cool piece of hardware. I was speaking in general as in it's not going toe to toe with the PS5 with the gwaphix.

That's the second claim I've seen of MK World running at 120hz; any truth to this?
Seems it is 4K (not sure if native or what) so I don't think it'll be 120. But who knows?
Edit: Then again, Hz isn't fps, so maybe.

Well, it's not possible, tho I'd like a Pro console that is TV only, as long as IQ and frame rate are not horrible like on Switch I'll be ok, Nintendo games tend to perform great anyway

His quote is "you'll really appreciate how delightfully satiny Mario Kart looks when it's running at 120 fps."

I wouldn't be surprised if he has no idea what he's talking about, but knows; anyone know this writer?

Because those people are now realizing how much better the Switch 2 is, compared to their Steam Deck. They feel cheated.

I've only pixel counted a screenshot from the gameplay and it seemed to be 4k. Though that could mean a lower 1080p mode could be 120fps maybe.
And my pixel counts might not be accurate lol.

No need to be so snippy.
I merely meant in this forum. And I mean in general since the consoles have released. There have been a number of threads with people being somewhat disappointment in the performance of the consoles, or maybe the lack of real difference to previous generations. And that's based purely on the threads that I've seen on here.
No fabrication required.

Whatever those issues are will simply be magnified on the switch 2

It's a 40W 8nm console when docked vs 5nm 240W+ on PS5 Pro

I don't think switch 2 hardware is bad, but praising it while dunking on consoles is out of touch with reality

60 fps is an expectation this gen and switch 2 is already limited to 30fps in many modern games

Even though it's not mentioned, maybe MKW has a quality/performance setting like Metroid 4.

It started with..

"It looks like ps3 games.."

Then..

"Wait, no it looks like xbox one.."

"Okay, maybe it looks like PS4 Pro.."

"Fine, it can hit PS5 on occasion.."

"Look, obviously it's a great value.. For Nintendo games only." <--- We are here now.

I'm not dismissing any console. I'm commenting on the attitudes people around here seem to have sometimes. Maybe some are so quick to analyse and compare everything, that sometimes they miss how good games and gaming hardware really is these days.
I think current gaming hardware is really great in regards to power. It's just it takes a long time these days for titles to get developed, so it's taking longer to see the fruits of the new hardware. And in the meantime, unfortunately some are disillusioned.

"5nm 240W+ on PS5 Pro bruh!"

Missing the point entirely of a Switch

Some of the dumbest takes
