CDPR posts Switch 2 Cyberpunk screens

This might be the first time we're seeing performance mode undocked, pretty impressive showing!

cp2077 was never the looker in the first place.
The only reason it keeps getting into gpu benchmarks, is how inefficient the engine was. A resource hog that CDPR do regular upkeep, i give them that.

I wasn't debating, just explaining why it'll sell like crazy. They have the family segment but also enthusiasts and nostalgics. And they can sell more than one device per family too.
Between me and my 3 kids, I purchased 7 Switches. I'd love to see the mansion that has 7 PS5 Pros littered about.

Your opinion is very wrong. Cyberpunk was one of the best looking games in 2020 and still is in top 3 in 2025 after updates. It also runs quite efficient compared to other games with path tracing (and looks better than many of them).

Looking sharp in both modes

Well ill be damned, I won't lie that is very impressive for a handheld.
Let me say Nitendo remains the most anti consumer and greedy corporation amongst console makers that being said, I was very skeptical seeing the graphics delivered by Nintendo first party but it looks like Nintendo delivered very capable handheld hardware.

Nitendo devs are just alot behind graphics pipeline wise The graphics look a little low res and losing detail on the big screens but on the handheld screen I'm sure it will look great. It can't be denied Nvidia hardware is damn impressive and efficient and amd will need to keep their asses in gear to makeup ground on steam deck 2. Nintendo made a shrewd offering even remaining at 8nm and Nvidia hardware delivered this at 8nm...I hate Nvidia for the greedy asses they've become but to deliver this level of hardware performance on 8nm in handheld form makes me wish Amd was a peer.

Let's see digital foundry for more detail but so far, it seems like Nintendo finally delivered competitive and capable hardware since the GameCube days.

nah, it looks like something outta 2020 tech. Because it is regularly updated and modded, it sill does not hide the lack of modern micropolygons rendering.

Objects lack the density and scale. It is not hard to run a weaker system.

Would you like a portion of salt with those tears...

The GOAT of backhanded compliments right there. Well done in hiding it so well. ;)

Red engine doesn't have nanite like system, but it doesn't stop the game from having top quality materials/lighting/models/textures (most of them) and ART:

I still haven't played this. Is it worth it?
I think the base game and dlc are pretty underwhelming story-wise, but the gameplay loop of exploring the city and leveling your character to develop your build is a lot of fun. The art direction is excellent, and the radio stations have some good music (e.g., Ritual FM).

I would say it's worth it. Even better if you can buy a cheap ps4 or Xbox One copy to play on ps5 or Series X, if not on PC. Curious to see how Cyberpunk handheld on Switch 2 will compare to the Steam Deck.

I was looking for a reason to have a go at Cyberpunk. Now with the handeld as well as docked mode I think I will get this.

I searched about every version individually. Asked google about framerate and resolution of cyberpunk in all these systems.
Thanks.

Yeah you'd want to be crazy if you knew this information and played it on a device that isn't high end pc, ps5/pro or a series X. And I guess if you include next gen consoles the PS6 in 2 and a half years.

Denial is a strong drug. But you are sticking to it though.
Legit stupid comment. Either that, or CDPR has never prided itself on it's graphical presentation. This is revisionist history, trying to tell us CDPR has always made ugly games now. Okay, Jimbo. 👍

This is a triple-dip for me. I got it for my son on the PS4 (LOL), Steam Deck, and no doubt this might be my other game besides MKW.

The game looks awesome to my eyes.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment. My bad.
No problem. To be honest I thought this would be awful on the Switch 2, And nearly fell out of my chair whan it was revealed. Guess I underestimated the power of Nvidia's new AI DLSS. This could be a gmae changer for the Switch 2.

Like I always said. Their relationship with Nvidiia would pay off in the end.

One the best move Nintendo ever did for tech

Because Nvidia takes care of the software side and API too. It's a "keys in hand" solution and for Nintendo in particular its perfect as they, imo, would not have the chops to handle that in modern times.

They're basically in the backseat and Nvidia's driving.

So true. They can just keep on driving for me...

Well it did not look good in some scenes of the preview testers. Much screen treating and low Details.
I really don't think that the CPU is that much better than the ps4/xb1 CPU, but I guess they optimized the hell out of the game in the last few years. Also switch 2 has more memory which might solve some of the issues the old consoles had. Also the ROM should be much faster than the old HDDs of those consoles. But previewers still complain a bit about popin.

The footage is locked to 30 or 60fps on youtube, but the console itself is 120hz with Gsync, meaning any tearing you're seeing is likely due to a mismatch between the recording fps and the display

Ahan...you really shouldn't be so invested in corporations or consoles.

A nuanced opinion is possible in place of extreme opinions singing praises or hate, but if you want to play cheerleader knock yourself out.

Ofcourse it is better than the Steam Deck for fuck sake it came out in 2022. Not even Nintendo would be that incompetent.
You say "of course", but a lot of people didn't believe us when we said "it will get 4K resolution, it will get DLSS, a strong GPU made by NVIDIA specifically for this system, HDR, VRR...".

So, "of course", I don't know, maybe... but at the end of the day, it's still a great thing to see.

By the way, Switch 2 is not only good about power. They really improved the system in a lot of ways and tbh it could become my main system thx to all the (maybe small) things they improved (hall effect joysticks, low latency, really ergonomic Pro controller...). What this system can do with a very small power consumption is stunning. I have to applaud: they did a really good system, and I don't think that Sony or MS would have made something better in the same form factor. Even the magnetic joy-con are great, it's just a good idea, so much better than the original Switch to use.

The Nvidia partnership is going to payoff in a really big way.

Are dev with a devkit or just based on speculations?
