Good, I wasn't a fan of the remaster, too gaudy in the colour saturation.

Never been much of a Halo fan, but this would make me play through it, for definite. If it’s as good as the Half Life 2 mod, it’ll be great.

CE is still the best Halo game - It simply has that timeless quality about it.
Incredibly replayable game and it will always have a special place in my black little heart.

PS : Man, when that theme kicks in at 20:40 in OP's video...fuck, one of the best pieces ever written for a video game, based O'Donnell i salute you.

On the github they're saying you need to track down a disc version, that's when I gave up.

It's abandonware at this point. It's "archived" on the internet *wink* so it shouldn't be hard to find.

I didn't see this topic so I thought nobody did it, LOL.
Runs great but I have this weird issue where the whole view "warps" in a strange way when I look around, it's especially noticeable when tilting my head to the side. It's pretty distracting so hopefully it can be fixed.

Yeah it seemed like they were saying it needed a valid key which a cracked version would not have, but they also referenced a "friend" having an "archived" version so I guess that might be the workaround being described in coded language.

Still too much trouble for me, I usually spend longer trying to get things to boot and troubleshooting issues than actually playing them and I'm tired of the struggle.

What kind of attitude is that? The struggle is the best part. Once you get everything set up, that's when you power down the machine and forget you ever took the time to get it all working.

I've gotta be honest, I've never really liked Halo that much. I've played through them but they were just "meh" games to me: Movement was slow and you could only carry two weapons at a time. But after playing it in with the mod, I am having a ton of fun. The game feels much faster and dynamic in VR, and the gunplay is actually fun now, I felt like some kind of space Rambo running and gunning down multiple enemies in just seconds.

And this is the first version of this mod. Wait until they add weapon holsters, manual reloading, motion controller grenade tossing and better melee attacks, it's gonna feel even more badass.

I'm really liking it as well. The only problem I had was when I turn the stick I jump intentionally. For some dumb reason jumping is binded to the turn stick.

Other than that its freaking awesome.

These kinds of regular classic shooter to VR mod port games are easily some of my favorite uses of VR, and frankly why I got into VR in the first place over a decade ago. I remember the wild west days of Oculus dev kits and all the public mods people were making to get VR in classic titles like quake and half life 2. It's because the thing VR games are missing is just a good quality story and production quality. These old classics provide that so it's a win win.

Pretty cool. Recently picked up VR slightly due to one of the kids getting a Quest 3s. VR has always been great for me.

Interested in that new 1000 kickstarter one or whatever the succesor to the HTC set.

I think the only way to do that would be re-binding it on SteamVR controller settings.
