What time is it?
What possible use case is there for a bendable monitor at home?

If it is better than the Samsung odyssey 50 pinchers I have with the smart functions. Pain in the bit to split the screen.

if someone with knowledge of the odyssey and this, could you tell which is better and where to look to see the differences. Thanks in advance.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
this is the monitor for the type of people that says 5090 is affordable. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Absolutely stunning, would be a nice upgrade from my Samsung G8 OLED.

Is it using a QD OLED panel?
Its from LG so it'll be a W-OLED or MLA. These should be running next generation MLA panels so hopefully it will catch up with QD OLED's in color vibrancy.

I would be itching to upgrade to one of these if I wasn't already happy with my G8. Maybe a in few years lol.

This is exactly the size and resolution I ultimately want on my desk, but at a much lower curve (1500-1800R). I went and checked out the current 45" LG at Best Buy and that crazy curve is just too much for me. I loved curved for big monitors, but there's a sweet spot. 2300R is not enough of a curve, but 1000R is too much.

I'd like to see how the adjustable curve works in the real world.
PPI is atrocious.

So the 39 inch model seems to be identical, just smaller?

I would probably go for that one, mine is currently 34 inches.

PPI is atrocious.
My 34 inch 1440P Ultrawide is at 110 PPI (which is absolutely ok), so 124 (with 45 inches) or 143 (with 39 inches) is even better.

Yes. It can convert 2D into 3D or convert Side By Side into 3D, This is what the suite looks like for it:

If it’s connected to a 3d BD player, will 3d BD movies play as they would on a conventional 3dtv? (Except of course no 3d glasses needed)

No. The 3D is being controlled by PC software. Something called Simulated Reality and Acer's proprietary software. You would need to play the DVD or file on your computer.

I wonder how long until we get a true 5k OLED monitor? I presume Apple will bring one out eventually to replace the Studio Display.

Amazing but pushing that amount of pixels is going to be rough on anything but a 5090 and even then.
Yeah for gaming its going to take a lot to push this thing.

I am currently on the 45" 1440p ultrawide OLED version and really want this new one for the increased PPI when doing regular stuff online as well as gaming

Plus I have a PS5 Pro hooked up to this thing so would love to see this new display running games in 4k on the Pro even having black bars on each end

motorised curvature...too bad it is 45", why cant they make a monitor monitor.

40" is better for PPI and desk view distance.

Curious if either of the new gen of gpus supports hdmi 2.2. Nvidia finally catching up on the display port side with the 5000 series.

Just another gadget for Elon, Bill, Warren et al.
edit: But I guess the idea is similar to this, a flagship product that isn’t expected or intended to sell in quantity.

Who gives a shit about a 5k monitor, now THIS is super fucking cool and I’d love to try to haul that to my apartment!

I am in California this week for opening week of Baseball season and visiting a lot of friends but my nephew texting me this arrived last night (he is house sitting so I didn't have to board my dogs)

He set it up replacing my 1440p version of the same monitor and according to him at least its the exact same display just sharper which I guess makes sense

I will be home next weekend and will run it through some games.

I am seeing more and more videos of this display pop up so it seems a lot of people are getting them delivered

Finally an ultrawide with high refresh rate and 2160 vertical pixels. Noice!
Exactly. It's so good that I feel like this bendable bullshit is just going to add astronomical cost for a "feature" nobody asked for. Edit: Didn't realize this was from December. Looks like maybe the 45GX950A is a normal curved version. $2000 is steep but man its tempting.
