Not really considering that this is the launch shipments which aren't big.0.5% is a crazy high rate of error at this scale.
I thought it was safe to upgrade now? It's better than console gaming for sure. No one forced anyone to wait for 5xxx series when writing was on the wall that it won't deliver.

Yet, despite all the issues, a lot of people prefer it to console gaming. Because of all the obvious reasons that have been reiterated here ad nauseam.PC gaming LOL

This is comical and what monopolies look like.
Nvidia has such massive dominance that it doesn't have any f*ks left to give.
More and more we are living in a time where wealthy and powerful entities just don't suffer any significant repercussions for being shitty.
People who decided to stick with their 4000 series are looking better and better.
Those who sold their 4000 series in anticipation of 5000 are looking more and more stupid.
Hopefully this will force some of you FOMO/scalper enabling mutherfuckers to wait for reviews and steady supply.
Like I said the other day.
Being a PC-only or first gamer means that QA is your responsibility on every piece of the experience.
Even buying the top part doesn't earn you a reprieve from this fact. Last year we had the i9 debacle too.
Only because consumers refuse to take action, they just bend over because they have zero willpower.
History shows they will learn nothing.
Between performance issues, sky high prices, and the state of hardware defects, PC gaming is in a horrible place. Imagine needing to deal with this shit after you just paid $2000.
Console gamers laughing it up at PCMR right now.
One Nvidia launch and you say all pc gaming is like this? Few months ago it was very possible to build pc stronger than PS5 pro (with 4070 and 5600) for 900+ Euros (vs 800 Euro for Pro).
This shit is almost exclusive to Blackwell, prices were much more normal and pretty much MSRP when 4xxx was still in stock - for YEARS.
I honestly hope those who paid scalper prices get royally fucked with a melting cable and/or whatever damaged ROPs. That's the only way they might....just might...exercise a little self control and let things play out.Only because consumers refuse to take action, they just bend over because they have zero willpower.

One Nvidia launch? It has been a downward spiral since the RTX cards began. There was nothing normal about 4000 series extortion pricing and card tier rung lowering, or MSRP cards years after launch. It's not just Nvidia either - look at Intel's CPU defects on 13th gen forward.
Your "stronger than PS5 Pro" PC build not only costs more but is a worse experience to boot when you consider the awful quality of PC ports. But some people seem to enjoy paying top dollar for stutter.

Blackwell is already nvidias worst generation in a long while.
Virtually no efficiency improvements...just better performance for more power.
PC like that would give you better experience in 90% of games compared to Pro. You have SOME bad ports on PC and some fucked up Pro versions of games as well, bad ports are not exclusive to PC.
Prices of 4xxx series were very high in 2022 but then in 2024 some models got corrected in performance/vram/price. You can say that consoles are fucked too because PS5 Pro is double the price of PS5 DE and PS4 Pro outside of US.
Never said they were exclusive to PC, but bad ports are certainly more common on PC - especially amongst the games people actually play. Look at Sony's ports, hell look at most Japanese game ports as straight up inferior. And even when the PC ports are good, is the improvement enough to justify the extreme increase in cost? Very few PC games blow consoles out of the water, and diminishing returns kicks in hard beyond 60fps, just like it does at 1440p and above. You can check the PC spec requirements and benchmarks and you'll find you are paying a lot more for an unoptimized port most of the time.
I completely agree the PS5 Pro price is high, especially outside of the US (I'd argue within too). 799 euros includes VAT, it's more like 665 euros which is equivalent to $700. Even then, still a better experience, and a better value than where the PC industry is for gaming today.
Now, power connector issues and things like missing rops are something no one (or at least most people) expected. Nvidia rushed this launch for whatever reason.
And yet I still get the impression that the 5080 and 5090 were intended to be released back in September.
Eh, as long as they handle RMAs reasonably well probably no grounds for that. Nvidia will have to make AIBs whole so I suspect (continuing to be) shorting nvidia isnt a bad idea.Class action lawsuit coming in 1, 2...
even 5080 it seems
