We're all dirty, evil sinners
If we muck up we have to suffer for an eternity in hell
There's apparently going to be some sort of judgement day in the future
Poor Jesus died for our sins for some reason
Then there was the whole business with the flood and all
Adam and Eve were tossed from paradise after God got the shits one day
We've got the whole Lucifer thing

Where's the love people?

God is always in bad mood.

Or its a little method to deal with human minds, scare the shit out of them and make they pay tributes in stupid places called Churches..

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Seppukakke: You know, in the Old Testament, God was full of Wroth and Vengeance. You did bad stuff, he rained brimstone down on your ungrateful ass or harrassed your people with 7 plagues.
Seppukakke: In the New Testament, its like he has turned over a new leaf, you don't hear some much of the nasty things he did to his people (because if you believe in it, everyone on earth is his creation)
Seppukakke: You know what happened around the time between the New Testament and the Old Testament?
Seppukakke: He got laid.

The love is supposed to be the message. Don't worry, us young Christians are pissed with the direction our current leaders are taking Chrisitianity. I heard a report from the BBC where they visited American churches and found a growing movement away from the "fire and brimstone" preachers of old to a new breed of preachers who taught tolerance and love and human rights. It'll be a slow process, but the largest churches now are slowly being steered by new leadership. I'm hoping that, within the next decade, evangelical Christians will be defined by their compassion rather than by their bigotry.

It's what a young Christian like me wants to see, a church that more closely mirrors the message of our Lord and Savior.

I used to be a Christian (and was raised so). I wouldn't mind being a Christian if I could find a group of Christians I actually wanted to be with. Church doesn't do anything for me anymore, and hasn't for a number of years. I've been to multiple churches before.

Bit off topic...but why is it always goddamn Christianity? I'm not even one myself, but it is getting tiring always seeing the only one people seem to complain about is...Christianity. I mean it is always mention like...Christianity. Serious what is the deal with...Christianity being the whipping boy of religions?

Yes, but that's not the end.
If we muck up we have to suffer for an eternity in hell
We already mucked up, but that's not the end either.
There's apparently going to be some sort of judgement day in the future
Yes, but it's not all bad news
Poor Jesus died for our sins for some reason
So that whomever believes in Him will not die, but live forever. All points shown above now in context. He died so that our sins would be on him, not us. Otherwise, God, being righteous and just, would have to punish us.
Then there was the whole business with the flood and all
Bad people + Righteous God = wrath
Adam and Eve were tossed from paradise after God got the shits one day
We've got the whole Lucifer thing
Lucifer mislead man and his wife with lies, encouraging them to mistrust God and his commands. They got tossed, Lucifer got a sound talking to. I'm not so sure about the literalness of this particular passage, but it's an ancient approximation.

Also a few more go's at it...Christianity

Well most of the folks here at GAF will probably be Western, where Christianity is the majority religion. That means Christianity provides the most imposition on their lives, which explains why it's "always goddamn Christianity." It also does the most good of any religion in the West, I'd be willing to wager, but I digress.

I'm far more partial to bashing Islam myself.

Well for starters, you can say a lot of things about Christianity and get away with it(Monty Python and the Life of Brian). Can't say the same thing about a certain religion.

lets take a look at suicide, its a sin to commit suicide according to Christianity and yet people still do it. with the other religion, its alright as long as you take a few infidels with you

Just ignore it.
Just like I'll ignore you. Talking about ignorance and tolerance for others? Hah. Ignorance is bliss after all.

I don't even understand what the point of these threads are anymore. The same comments over and over with everyone sitting and staring like they're out of it. All it ever turns into is a "Say whatever you want and nobody will bat an eyelash".

The reason why is pretty simple though. Nobody cracks down on it at all, criticism? Fine. We're all allowed our own opinions. But the insults and snide comments that are constantly ignored is a bit disturbing.
